Necon 0 Medication
Dose may differ: With bc, original name is protected by a patent for a period of time. When that patent runs out, another drug company can make that same medicine with the same basic ingredients, but a different name. This is called a "generic" drug. The fda assumes that this medicine works the same, but blood levels may vary. Both necon&nortrel come in different doses e.g. 7/7/7 or 1/35--so Necon 1/35=nortrel 1/35. ...Read more

Normal adjustment: When on oral contraception, it's not unusual to have brownish discharge or even spotting as the uterus adjusts to the hormones in the pill. This is called breakthrough bleed and should resolve with time. Keep on your regimine, don't skip pills and try to take the pills the same time each day. That will help provide a more stable environment for your uterus. ...Read more
Random weightloss. About 7-8 months ago, i was 125lbs. I am now 113lbs. I eat around 2-3 times a day, small portions. Im also on bc, necon 1/35.
Stress: There are issues of absorption or endocrine problems that can do it. Do u sleep well at night? Rate your stress on a scale of 1-10, 10 the worst. Depression can sometimes do it. A good medicine, if this is the case, is mirtazapine; it helps weight, sleep and anxiety( over time). There may be more to it like hyperthyroidism, malabsorption, other endocrine problem, but usually anxiety at ur ag. ...Read more

Necon 1/50: "Emergency contraception" involves taking essentially a birth control pill (or two, depending on the strength) after unprotected sex. With Norcon 1/50, you would take only one for use as "emergency contraception" since it is a heavier dose than most commonly used pills these days. This kind of "morning after" contraception is not always successful, however. ...Read more

I take Zanaflex (tizanidine) or flexeril (have both) and just started necon 10/11. I read there could be interactions with zanaflex (tizanidine). Do i need to be concerned?
Yes- Sedation/dizzy: If you use Zanaflex (tizanidine) chronically, know that the concentration of Zanaflex is increased when used with oral contraceptive and may result in increased sedation, fatigue/ low blood pressure (hypotensive issues- dizziness, fainting). You may want to use Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine hcl) instead but also watch out for drowsiness, fatigue, dizziness. Avoid alcohol and use caution when driving while on these drugs. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Adenomyosis: Adenomyosis is when tissue just like the uterine lining grows into the wall of the uterus. Fibroids are smooth muscle tumors that grow in the wall of the uterus. Both conditions are common and can cause bleeding abnormalities, pain and other gyn issues. Ultrasound can tell more about these problems. ...Read more

If I switched from Trinessa (norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol) to Necon 1/35 on the day after my last active Trinessa (norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol) then am I protected immediately since I never stopped pills?

1 doc said adeno, 2nd doc endo, 3rd doc did lapro for endo, said no adeno proof, on necon, all said recur ovar cysts that rupture. Still have pain?
Clarify: I assume you are referring to adenomyosis and endometriosis. A negative evaluation for both of these doesn't mean you don't have them. Many cases of endometriosis have negative biopsies and laparoscopies. Adenomyosis is only confirmed after removing the uterus. You could still have either of these conditions. Unfortunately many cases of chronic pain never find a cause. ...Read more
I received a refill of my prescription of birth control. I typically receive Necon, however, this time I got Nortrel 1/35. Is this the same thing as Necon?
birth control question
I've been off birth control pills for three weeks, had unprotected sex, no ejaculation, took two doses of 4 necon 1/35 the next day, could I be pg?
Too soon to know: If you miss your period by one week, do a home pregnancy test. If it is negative repeat it in 4-5 days, unless you get a period by then. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex. ...Read more
I know necon is birth control but it was prescribed to me to help have my menstrual cycle. Is there another med for that, that isn't birth control?
I'm taking necon 7/7/7 and I've been on it for two months now. I had unprotected sex, is there a chance for pregnancy? he didn't ejaculate in me......
Do HPT timely...: Disregarding what kind of contraceptives you might have used, always do HPT in 7-10 days after missing expected period and repeat it in another 7-10 days if the first HPT is (-) & still in doubt. Also remember: Fertile time, i.e., ovulation occurs some 2 weeks before period no matter what your menstrual cycle could be. Best wish to safe sex... ...Read more
What is the treatment for adenomyosis, heterogeneous, and fibroids? My gyno put me on necon 1/32 last yr after surgery but obviously that's not working
Try embolization: There are many options for fibroids, but relatively few for adenomyosis. If hormonal therapies don't work the choices are limited. Hysterectomy is curative, but difficult to consider in a young woman. There is emerging evidence that embolization can provide good results for adenomyosis as well as fibroids and allow uterine preservation and at least a chance of fertility. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Is it possible to become pregnant immediately after going off birth control? (The pill, Necon). Been off the pill for 3 weeks and TTC. Thanks!
Been off birth control pills for a month, had unprotected sex, no ejaculation, took two doses of 4 necon 1/35 the next day, chances of being preg?
2 doses: 4 pills of Necon 1+35 taken 12 hours apart within the first 24 hours after intercourse is the equivalent of taking one of the emergency hormonal contraceptives like Plan B. It decreases the risk of pregnancy by 95%. However, it is not a good substitute for taking the same pill on a daily basis as they were designed to be taken. Be safe. Start your pills back unless you want to be pregnant. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

That : That is abnormal to have bleeding for 8 days as well as having the excessive, unexpected, and long durations of bleeding. Given your history, please have your gynecologists reevaluate you. There is also a possibility that you might need a different type of birth control pill. If you develop increased bleeding, feel light-headed/faint, or have pain then you would need to be seen as an emergency. ...Read more

I am on necon 1/35 last week had a light period lasted 1 and a half days, usually last 4 to 5 days and this week I am nasous breast are tender
As : As doctors, anytime a fertile, sexually active woman has an abnormally light or missed period, the first thing we do is rule out pregnancy. You can either take a home pregnancy test as long as it has been 5- 6 weeks since your last normal period, or you can go see your doctor and they can test you. A home pregnancy test is 97% accurate if taken a week or more after the missed or light period. A blood test can tell if you are pregnant as soon as 7 days after conception and a doctor's urine pregnancy test can tell if you are pregnant around when you next period should come. However, Necon 1/35 is a low estrogen pill. This means that it can cause you to have less of a build-up of your uterine lining which equals a short, light or even missed period. If you have been using the pill correctly (which means taking it at the same time every day) then your light period is most likely from this side effect and not from pregnancy. Even though missed or light periods are a known and sometimes desired side effect of Necon 1/35, if this is not working for you, talk to your doctor about trying another pill with a higher estrogen content. ...Read more
