No worries: Congratulations on the baby Allison. Unfortunately they can reek havoc on your body. I would recommend you start with the basic moist heat, massage & lymphatic drainage of that left arm. Carpal Tunnel syndrome is a distinct possibility. Try a cock up splint. You may need an MRI of your C-Spine if not improving. I wouldn't worry about the vasomotor symptoms. See below.: My general rule of thumb is this: any medication that's safe for a baby given his age, is also safe for the breastfeeding mom. So Motrin (ibuprofen) and tylenol (acetaminophen) are safe. Irritated nerve?: If there is pain, tingling, numbness, or electrical sensations felt when a person moves her head or neck in a particular direction, she may be irritating or compressing a nerve coming out of the spinal cord. Yes: It can definitely help. A ct with contrast is better. If you're worried about breast feeding with the contrast, its not an issue. The amount that is actually eventually absorbed by the baby from the stomach is extremely small. Much less than we give babies actually getting a ct scan. ...Read more

May need strep test: Sore throat and tonsillitis symptoms usually are evaluated by a rapid strep test in addition to an exam. If there are strep germs, antibiotics such as Amoxil or Zithromax are needed. Sometimes tonsils get whitish mucousy stuff on them. A patient can call around town to see if there is a new PCP who can fit her in within 48 hours. Going online to her insurance's website can bring up a PCP list. ...Read more
