There is redness on the front of my neck in the shape of a lg butterfly, no blisters, sunburn, itchiness or pain, I feel fine just shakey, what is it?
It is time for a Dr.: In a person who is "shakey", and has something in the shape of a large butterfly at the front of her neck... maybe the neck thing is not so much a rash but rather an enlarged thyroid gland... possibly with inflammation and putting out too much thyroid hormone. It is time to see one's primary care doctor, who may refer to an endocrinologist if indeed the thyroid gland is sick. ...Read more

Ur seeing arteriolar: Response: Arterioles control blood flow to capillaris, body wide. More blood into capillaries of skin ↑es pink-to-red color of skin (skin actually yellow due to proteins). Intense enough capillary flow increase also tends to result in various "itchy" sensations, as in sun burn, niacin or post menopausal flushing responses. When we feel hot, brain ↑es blood flow to skin to release heat/cool off. ...Read more

Last 2 mths I have red blotchy skin on both sides of my neck just under jaw line and center of my upper chest. Not itchy. Areas hurt if anything rubs?
That is difficult: To answer without seeing what you are describing. My first guess would have been urticarial, but unlikely if it doesn't itch. The fact that it is sensitive to touch indicates that it is likely exposed dermal tissue and should be looked at by someone with a medical background. ...Read more
