Not related: You have a lot going on and i can only comment in general. Discomfort below the "adams apple" is not likely to be from the spine. The thyroid itself can hurt off and on with thyroiditis. There are specific blood tests for that. There are muscles and nerves in the neck that can be injured, stretched or irritated. No test will show that. Stick with your docs, avoid over examining and irritating it. ...Read more

I have thyroid nodules that have grown in number and size and now I am having neck pain. The nodules are less than 1 cm. I am very irritable also. ?

The neck pain may: Be a result of these nodules or even secondary to metabolic issues related to these nodules. The pain may also be independent of the thyroid issue as well but this should be evaluated by your physician. ...Read more

What can I do if my thyroid nodule in my neck biospy came back bengin is there anything to worry about?

Needle or Surgical?: Was the biopsy a needle biopsy or an excisional surgical biopsy? If surgical, then the nodule was removed and it is benign and you probably have little to worry about. If a needle biospy then you need to know if there was adequate tissue for diagnosis. If not, then you can't be sure there is nothing there. Sometimes a repeat biopsy is suggested or a followup sonogram of the nodule. ...Read more

Post-inflammatory node on my neck. Growing thyroid nodule that was previously ruled benign. What to do?

Consider re-biopsy: Benign nodules can grow just like malignant ones. Just because it is larger does not necessarily mean it is bad, but one should consider re-biopsy to verify that it is benign. Studies show that about 3-5% of nodules with benign pathology reports, are malignant on further testing. ...Read more

Small thyroid nodule on right side of neck only; hasn't noticeably grown in five years. Chance it will ever grow? What percent of nodules do grow?

Variable: If the nodule is "small" and hasn't grown in five years, it is probably benign and not a problem. Keep watching it, and check an ultrasound as you probably will form further nodules in the future. ...Read more

Have 6 monitored thyroid nodules. Last 2 days felt uncomfortable, bit pain front left neck. When touched, feels bit lumpy. Gland or thyroid problem?

Possible hashimoto: I would like more information to be able to assess what is going on. Typically, you will not be able to feel your neck nodules if they are thyroid nodules unless they are at least 1.5 cm and more likely 2 cm. If you have 6 nodules that you are watching, my guess is that they are smaller than this. You have a scheduled U/S on the 2nd of June? This will answer the question. ...Read more

Can small thyroid nodules make you feel like someone's squeezing your neck?

Can small thyroid nodules make you feel like someone's squeezing your neck?

Generally not: Look for other causes. One uncommon cause is vocal cord dysfunction, which can feel just like an asthma attack, but is not relieved with inhalers. Esophageal spasm is another cause. Getting stuck on a preconceived diagnosis prevents the proper one from being made. See your doc, and describe your symptoms in detail to him, in order for the proper diagnosis to be made. ...Read more

Is laser physiotherapy on back of neck safe when you have thyroid nodules?

Is laser physiotherapy on back of neck safe when you have thyroid nodules?

No research: On this as far as i can tell. However, i would assume it would be safe to have posterior cervical treatment with thyroid nodules. Whatever energy is deposited in the back of the neck with this treatment would not extend to the region of the thyroid. ...Read more

Could my intense neck pain b caused by cancerous nodule removal surgery I had last year on thyroid? Pain is in the back of neck. Trying 2 find source

Possibly: Not knowing details of your cancer or the procedure done I cannot judge the likeliness that this is a surgical complication. But persistent pain, especially with your history needs careful assessment. See your doctor to get this checked out. ...Read more
