Many reasons?: Conceivable that there is post-op scarring which has involved nerves in the brachial plexus, and this could cause both arm numbness and headache. Also, could have independent neck disc or arthritic issue. Whether this is vascular in origin needs to be assessed. Consider a "thoracic outlet" like process in the upper plexus. ...Read more

Not really: Anything is possible but the injury would be unlikely, it would have been readily apparent if it happened at the time of biopsy and your symptoms are not consistent with a carotid eatey injury so I would guess your carotid artery is fine. ...Read more

Well, yes: cannot say in your particular case without direct exam. AND large vessel autoimmune diseases are treated with high dose steroids. High dose steroids are effective in large vessel disease. Other therapies (anti-rejection drugs, monoclonal antibodies) are being evaluated and likely to be helpful, but are not known definitely to work yet. ...Read more
