Many reasons?: Conceivable that there is post-op scarring which has involved nerves in the brachial plexus, and this could cause both arm numbness and headache. Not likely: A stenosis of the carotid arteries as in any other artery is a process that takes years to develop and is referred to as plaque. Plaque that has developed in the artery does not go away on its own. It can be removed reliably and safely with endarterectomy of the carotid artery.
