Chronic (long-term) stress can have real health consequences and should be addressed like any other health concern. Fortunately, research is showing that lifestyle changes and stress-reduction techniques can help people learn ...Read more

I've been to dr's for neck pain due to stress. I am too nitpicky. Can you give me examples of being nitpicky?
Being nitpicky!: In my opinion there is no such thing as being nitpicky when a patient is suffering from pain and a doctor recommends a treatment. I would expect all my patients to ask about the treatments, side effects, complications and outcomes. If a physician does not like you asking questions about your own body, i would think it is time to change the physician not your questioning! keep asking. ...Read more

Absolutely: We all go through stressful periods in our lives. Often times this leads to sub-conscious tooth grinding/clenching or posturing of the head/neck. Over time, the muscles involved become over worked and can develop tiny trigger-points (knots) that can be quite painful. Stress-relief and relaxation exercises can help.
