I just asked this and the doctor said it had to with working in heat. I think he mixed me up with someone else. Thyroid neck pain. Hurts to touch.

May be thyroid: Thyroiditis, or inflammation of the thyroid gland can make the thyroid gland tender & sore to touch. But lymph nodes in the neck can become swollen and inflamed too. Best to see your doctor to see if the area that is sore is where the thyroid gland sits. Thyroiditis can also cause temporary abnormalities in thyroid hormone levels, so your doctor may ask you to get blood work to check on this. ...Read more

On and off soreness around adams apple. Sore when pressed. Chronic on off neck pain. Thyroid scan no nodules. Mri minor bulged disc. Finished pt and injectons. More a gnawing ache. Also gets tight ard adams?

Not related: You have a lot going on and I can only comment in general. Discomfort below the "adams apple" is not likely to be from the spine. The thyroid itself can hurt off and on with thyroiditis. There are specific blood tests for that. There are muscles and nerves in the neck that can be injured, stretched or irritated. No test will show that. Stick with your docs, avoid over examining and irritating it. ...Read more
