Not likely a tumor: A brain tumor is pretty far down the list of possibilities. I think you have pinpointed the most likely cause yourself: muscle tension. Neck, shoulder, temple, jaw muscle tightness and pain create anxiety which causes more tightness which causes more pain which ... Tension headache: This could be a number of things, and the safest thing is to get checked out by a doctor. That being said, in the mean time, have her change pillows, sleeping position, and try neck stretches before bed. It sounds like a tension type headache, but would need more info and physical exam to be sure. However, try those things, as well as gentle massage and see if that helps. ...Read more

Get seen: Yoou should be checked. There are simple causes of neck pain that are often self limited, but your pain seems beyond that.
