Neck Pain And Numbness In Fingers
I have neck pain and stiffness. I have tingling and numbness in hands and fingers and some tingling in buttocks area. I also struggle with anxiety/p attacks. Xrays show degen. In neck. What to do?
Your best bet: Is to review these issues with your primary care doctor. They could be anxiety related but may also be related to another process. A good formal neurologic evaluation is necessary to make sure further evaluation beyond the x-rays you report, if any other testing is warranted. Best of luck.See 2 more doctor answers

What are good exercises for numbness in fingers. Chr neck pain MRI confirmed bulging disc in c220.127.116.11. No motor weakness. No trauma. Is Mackenzie good?
Finger numbness: Numbness in the fingers as it relates to the neck usually causes compression of the spinal cord or cervical myelopathy. Numbness without spinal cord compression may indicate an impingement of the ulnar nerve at the elbow (cubital tunnel syndrome) or impingement of the median nerve at the wrist (carpal tunnel syndrome). An EMG of the upper extremities will establish the cause of the numbness.
I have been diagnosed with a syrinx. Left neck, clavicle pain and numbness of my fingers. The most recent MRI shows a syrinx from C6-T1 and my previous MRI a year ago shows a syrinx at C6. I have been told it is too small to cause the pain. Thoughts?
Neurosurgeon: This is a question best answered by a neurosurgeon. Collaboration between the radiologist and a neurosurgeon who has examined you would be ideal. I do know that in cases of a small syrinx a conservative approach is usually best.
What can cause neck pain and numbness in hands while sleeping. While working I have twisting of fingers and restless legs while resting.
Neck problems: It is very possible that the root if your numbness, tingling and lack of strength of upper extremities and hands is on the neck. High and hard pillows may exacerbate it while in bed. Make a consult to a chiropractor or medical doctor regarding your neck contracture and pain. Use a soft pillow or none at all. Relax your neck when you work at the office, using a tall seat whenever possible.
3 bulging disc in my neck /pain and numbness in right arm from elbow to index finger and thumb doctor wants to refer neurologist is this correct?
Pinched nerve: Neck pain that runs down the arm with or without numbness and tingling sounds like a pinched nerve in the neck. This is usually caused by a protruding disc or bone spur touching one of your spinal nerves as it leaves your neck. A neurologist can be a good start to get this evaluated.See 1 more doctor answer
Extreme pain at side of my post neck during or after sleep. Transient finger numbness in morning for 20min. Hnp can cause such? Anything other than hnp?
Muscular, carpal tun: This may be a significant muscular problem related to your neck position during sleep. Experiment with pillow. Could also be a bit of irritation of nerves in the neck without true hnp. Also, carpal tunnel synd often causes upper extremity pain and tingling/numbness at night. Try a Velcro wrist brace when you sleep
See below: Perhaps, position of neck compresses nerve root, but may have problem over brachial plexus such as thoracic outlet, or less likely nerve compression at elbow or wrist. Although left arm implicated in heart conditions, doubtful this issue is playing a role when immobilized. Discuss with your doc.
Yes....: Bulging disc in the neck can cause neuropathy - numbness down the arm / hand - not the chest
Can cervical neck pain and lower back pain symptoms along with numbness in ring and pinky finger on left hand, be an underlying symtom of something?
Cubital tunnel: Entrapment of the ulnar nerve at the elbow (funny bone) is common. Usually aggravated with bending of elbow: while sleeping, working at desk, driving a car, all of which we tend to flex the elbow and create increased tension on the ulnar nerve. Try sleeping with straight arms, avoid postures that flex the arms during the day. You're awfully young for neck probs, but possible.See 1 more doctor answer
Can ADHD meds cause nerve damage? Ie numbness in fingers and joints, neck/shoulder tenseness, crippling sciatic nerve pain. Are these all related?
No. Stimulants can: Constrict blood vesselsraise blood pressure (usually by 5-6 mm hg) &? pulse (usually by 5-6 beats/minute), but they don't cause impingement of nerve roots with numbness, tingling & pain in the areas served by specific nerves. See your primary care to initiate evaluation for the cause of your symptoms.

Dear doctor I am suffering from neck pain and numbness in my back side of the head. And some times I feel rotate the numbness in left side of the head
Evaluate Neck: If you are not improving have your doctor order a cervical spine mri. Many times a herniated disc in the neck can cause arm pain especially if you have not improved with the medications and physical therapy. If it is a herniated disc you may need evaluation from a spine specialist to determine what other options might be needed (injections, surgery, etc) to help reduce pain.
It started with neck pain and numbness in my left arm...A year later I'm have a pain at the base of my skull, in my eyes, ears, forehead and face?
Not usually: Anemia is too few red blood cells. This lowers your oxygen carrying capacity of your blood. As a result of this your heart and lungs need to work harder to circulate your blood. This should not cause finger numbness. However is you are breathing faster than normal, this can cause some extremity numbess. If this keeps up get it checked out.
nerve compression: The most common cause of numbness and tingling in hands in otherwise healthy individuals is nerve compression. The most common type of nerve compression is carpal tunnel syndrome. That being said there are a number of other causes as mentioned by by colleague. I recommend that you consult an experienced hand surgeon for further evaluation.See 2 more doctor answers
