Neck Pain After Hitting Head
ER for CT/xrays: If you experienced unconsciousness even for a brief interval, it would be best to be seen by a physician right away. You may need a head CT to rule out trauma-related problems such as bleeding and swelling. At the ER, they can also prescribe pain medications as necessary. It must have been a significant blow to the head to cause neck, shoulder, and spine pain, too.
A month ago I fell in tub hitting my neck and head, had CT everything fine. Still having severe headaches, neck pain, nausea and vomiting. HELP ME!!
Concussion: I believe you suffered a concussion without (fortunately) abnormalities on the CT scan... Please return to your doctor for physical exam and treatment and hopefully things will stabilize over the next 6-8 weeks. These injuries take time to recover from unfortunately. All my best!See 1 more doctor answer

My spouse got in a fight 3days ago in which he got hit in the head several times he is complaining about neck pain and dizziness should we be worried?
Certainly. He needs: To see his primary care physician for a physical ; neurological exam to determine need for an MRI of the brain to rule out a bleed ;/or of his cervical spine to rule out significant injury. Prize fighters ; american footballers can have subdural hematomas from repeated blows to the head without loss of consciousness, so why not brawlers? I hit my head on the door frame ducking under a drop cord...3 days ago and I still have some neck pain and off and on headache... what should I do?
The top of my head has been hurting as if I had hit it on something, but that hasn't happened. I have neck pain - could it be referred pain from that? I also am experiencing vertigo/dizziness the past few days.
Your symptoms could: All be related to a serious intracranial process. It would be a good idea to get this checked out by a health care professional as soon as possible.

I had a black out as I felt light headed. I fell on the floor and hit my head on the ground. Couldn't remember that I fell. Woke up with neck pain?
Syncope: This condition is called Syncope. There are several reasons as to why one would pass out. Any doctor would need more information by talking to you to properly assess what's might be going on. I would strongly advise that you either talk to one of us or see your family physician in person, about this. This could be something as simple as dehydration or much worse as cardiac disease.See 3 more doctor answers
Neck pain, top of head tender to touch, dull headache and cheekbone is sore. Wasn't hit or no head/neck injury recently?
I hit my head a couple days ago and passed out. I woke up today with neck pain and have headaches and dizziness. Should I wait to see a doctor?
You should not wait: Although chances of intra cranial injury are low, loss of consciousness means significant injury. You might also have a neck injury. Only a neuro exam by a doctor can tell whether you need more tests, such as a CT brain scan.
Hard hit to head 3 weeks ago. Ct scan 2 hours after hit was clear of bleeding. Having bad head and back of the neck pain now. Worried about stroke.
Take reassurance: A stroke isn't likely to be causing head and neck pain; they tend to manifest with motor/sensory problems or speech issues. If you suffered that significant/traumatic a blow to the head this could be post-concussive symptoms. You really should see your primary care doctor as they should be able to help minimize some of the symptoms and make sure nothing more worrisome is going on.See 1 more doctor answer
Isolated pressure headaches and some neck pain that seems to be connected. Could it be a tumor? Just had 2 CT scans after head hit and they were clear
Tumor unlikely: Given the history you provided, it is very unlikely that you have a tumor as the explanation of your symptoms. It may help to start exercising and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. It may take a few months for you to see the full benefit, so stick with the program.
During exercise, fell back and hit back of head on floor. Did not feel dizzy or headache, but neck pain set in quick, esp. While turning. Advice?
Many people have-: -falls of this type every day. You may have some early degerative disease in your cervical spine. If this just happened & you have not had this before, to you it may seem very worrisome. For now rest ice NSAIDS if you are able, & activity modification. Should clear fairly soon @ Ur age give it some time. If persistent or worsens see your PCP 4 eval & referrals can B made if indicated.See 1 more doctor answer

My 9 yr old daughter was knocked down backwards but didn't hit her head. No visible bruises or swelling. 4days later dark veins n shoulder n neck pain?
Still is trauma: Glad she did not hit her head. Being knpcked backwards can still cause trauma. She may be manifesting a deep bruise on her shoulder and the neck pain would not be unexpected...You can try homeopathic arnica and see her doc if the neck pain persists. I am a fan of chiropractors and craniosacral therapy in cases like this as well.
