"tumor" literally translates as "mass", so even a fresh bruise could be called a "tumor". Doctors use the term "neoplasm" (tranlates literally as new growth) to describe tumors that are abnormal growths of cells. These may be benign or malignant; "malignant" = cancer. In everyday usage, we use "tumor" ...Read more
The right part of my navel has a tumor like structure and as I observed it enlarged gradually. I usually bowel 5 times a day. Is it really a tumor?
My father has a soft-skinned tumor like structure on the right portion of his navel and it seems that it is connected internally. What is it? Help me!
Needs Examination: A medical examination is the best way to find out what it is. It could be an umbilical hernia (it will pop up and get bigger when he lifts his head from a lying position...As you do when sitting up). I would worry more if it is getting bigger in size or has any pain associated with it. ...Read more

Many answers: There are many different tumors that can form in the abdomen and they can occur in anyone. Without more specifics, any further answer would be too long for this forum. If there is a particular tumor you have a concern about, re-ask the question and be specific. Good luck. ...Read more
Coworker has tumors in abdomen. We have 1 toilet so I can't to avoid her bm smell. I have ab. Pain; my bm smells like hers. Should I be concerned.?
No: Tumors, either benign or malignant, are not transmissible by contact (you can't catch it from from another person). The smell of a bowel movement is related to bacterial content and digested food, so if you and your coworker eat a similar diet, that is the reason for a similar odor. Presuming you and your coworker are close in age, she most likely had either endometriosis or uterine fibroids. ...Read more
Hard to address your: Unless you give us more details about what you mean "lobular tumor" such as its location, size, biopsy report etc, it is hard to know what it is. The only way to tell a tumor to be benign versus malignant is with a biopsy. So you need to share the biopsy results with us, then we can try to make some sense of this question. ...Read more
I had a cats can of the abdomen with contrast and I've would that show if I had a tumor in the pancreas or liver?
Cats can; dogs can't: Hi. Yes, usually a CT scan of the abdomen will show tumors of the pancreas and liver. However, there is a limit of resolution, as with all testing, and some tumors (more common in pancreas than liver) are below the limit of detection with CT, but very problematic by way of making a hormone in an unregulated manner. Depending on your case, your doc may want more imaging. ...Read more
I always have a bloated abdomen. My doc says it's related to perimeno. Would I always be bloated from this? I'm concerned I may have a tumor.
Possibly: Bloating is typically a symptom that is related to distention or gas in the bowel. Hormone changes during menopause can effect the motility of the bowel and therefore result in bloating. This can also be a symptom of ovarian cancer so a person should be thoroughly evaluated to rule out more serious causes before saying it is hormonal or dietary related. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Pimple: If your mom doesn't want to look at it but she worries about it, perhaps she should have somebody else to look at it. She should probably go to see her doctor and have the doctor examned her and discuss further whether she should worry about something or not. If that turns out to be some sort of rash- fungal infection or irritation etc- then the doc also can help her. Don't lose anymore sleep. ...Read more
If ultrasound identified mass near intestines/right abdomen, would it tell u if it was solid? If so is tumor only solid mass that can b found in area
Seek a better test: Abdomen is better visualized with a ct scan or MRI of the abdomen. Ultrasound is a good screen and is useful when it shows no abnormalities. But it does have high false positives. ..So I would advise you to go see your doctor for further evaluation in order to confirm if you indeed have a tumor or was this just a false alarm. ...Read more
Can sonogram reveal cancer? I recently had a sonogram of abdomen. It did not reveal any problems like tumors, etc. But I still feel bad and lost 7 pounds in last 3 days. Could it be that sonogram is just not capable to reveal tumors? Thanks
Abd US cancer: 7lb weight loss in 3 days and "feeling bad" are general symptoms that require further evaluation. You should go see your primary care for further evaluation. However, it not commonly used for cancer detection. Ct scan may be complimentary or better. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
