Head injury, fell from shower, hit head on toilet. Two days ago. Pressure sensation inside head. Nausea, no vomit. Can't focus. Should I worry?
Possible whiplash? Dancing at concert wildly shaking head for hours. Now, week later, dull headache and some neck pain esp when tilt head back.

No: These are not the "normal" everyday expected symptoms that your should be experiencing, especially after hitting your head on the car trunk. In fact, your symptoms may get worse over the next couple of days before they get better. Take some OTC pain meds if you need them and wait it out. Get checked in ER: You are young but you head some headache with nausea. It could be a simple superfical concussion to brain tissue without even any observable imaging defects in ct scan/mri brain. Probably migraine: Sinus headache is also a possibility, but it is usually accompanied by yellow or green nasal discharge. Meningitis is a consideration as well, especially if there is fever, in which case make it quickly to an ER. Otherwise try Migralex (it's in CVS) or Advil and if these don't help, see a doctor for a prescription for Imitrex (sumatriptan). ...Read more

Postconcussive: A postconcussive syndrome can bring about any other psychiatric syndrome including an impulse control disorder nos. Seen from this perspective, medicinally one might expect benefit from Hydroxyzine dosed as tolerated between 10 mg daily up to 25 mg PO qid. If you also have posttraumatic stress disorder symptomatology, there is always the possibility of a self-directed anger coming back at you in the form of a repetition compulsion.Either way, psychotherapy along with medication would certainly be the way to go.Low-dose antipsychotic interventions are sometimes also helpful in such conditions but i would certainly give Hydroxyzine a trial run first if you were among my patient population.
