Head Injury: I'm sorry. It's not easy answering a question like this, in this environment and telling you it's going to be okay. Not without more info or a chance to examine the child. It sounds like you're thinking of all the right stuff, but if you have concerns, I would suggest a trip to the er to be safe. ...Read more

Before or after?: If the headache is after you hit the bedpost then post-traumatic headache should be considered. This is a form of secondary headache that occurs after head injury. Hit the back of my head against a wall. 2 Days of dizziness, headaches, nausea. Dr says and scan show I'm fine? How can this be? Oh, I'm epileptic
Concussion: Greetings. Your symptoms sound like you may have sustained a concussion. I would recommend considering a Neurological evaluation and this could be obtained at a local teaching hospital where they have resident or fellow Neurology training programs. In our area it is VERY hard to get into seeing a Neurologist but if your HA, Nausea and Dizziness persist, they will see you in a teaching hospital ER. ...Read more
I've had mild headaches for the past week plus very little nausea sometimes + low bp(90/60). I've hit my head 2 months ago(mild injury)? Correlation?
R/O CONCUSSION : HEAD TRAUMA from a fall, sports or MVA CAN result to in a concussion. Initial head CT may be negative. Follow up with your doctor and a neurologist. I usually recommend monthly visits for 3-4 months to evaluate for POST-CONCUSSIVE SYNDROME. If symptoms persist or worsen, a brain MRI AND MRA may be necessary. Best to rest avoid overstimulation and monitor response. Low bp ca cause HA ...Read more
Yesterday, hit top of my head on a metal shelf, hard. At first felt normal, but after few hrs have headache, mild nausea, and feel foggy. Concussion?
Hit top of my head really hard in concrete 3 days ago, felt really weird and still feel weird, no nausea/LOC/other symptoms, can I have a concussion?
Get checked out: The symptom of feeling weird is pretty nonspecific, and while may sound benign sometimes can be a signal to something not so benign like a brain bleed. Depending on your age and your other medical problems this could be either a post-concussive symptom or a sequella of a small brain bleed. Talk to your neurologist if symptoms are persistent to see if MRI brain would be warranted in your case. ...Read more

Depends: The effects of concussions can vary and be unpredictable. It depends on the severity of the injury. The symptoms can include headache, dizziness, vision change (blurred vision/ double vision), nausea/vomiting. If your symptoms or headache are severe, or if you have a loss of consciousness, you should get evaluated immediately. ...Read more
Concussion: Sounds like a mild concussion. If you note increasing headache with visual blurring, nausea and vomiting, associated with difficulty with balance and coordination, not bad idea to see your doctor ASAP. In most cases, these events are the worst when occurs, and better over a period and healing. But notify your regular doctor just to be safe. ...Read more
Was involved in a fender bender yesterday.did not hit head, not knocked out. On my way home developed mild headache...later on developed nausea.?
Concussion: All that is required for a concussion is that your brain bounce around inside your skull. So if you have a significant acceleration/deceleration event you could get a concussion. If the headache and nausea resolve pretty quickly and you have no lingering symptoms past 24-48 hours then I would not be terribly concerned. ...Read more
I hit my head on the wall laying down in bed very hard was painful I felt mildly dizzy and slight nausea which passed I have headache where I hit it?
Trauma / concussion: It sounds like you have a post-concussive / post-traumatic headache. If the headache is accompanied by other symptoms (difficulty concentrating, irritability) then you might have post-concussion syndrome. If the headache doesn't clear or gets worse, see your physician. http://www.brainline.org/content/2008/12/headaches-after-head-injuries-8212-post-traumatic-headaches.htm ...Read more
Hit head on toilet bowl yesterday still have a headache, nausea dizziness and tired over 24 hours later?
Typical American: You want everything NOW, including remission of symptoms. Typical American impatience is futile here. Why do you think your symptoms should be gone in a day? In fact, your symptoms may get worse over the next couple of days before they get better. Take some OTC pain meds if you need them and wait it out. A visit to an urgent-care center or ER will accomplish nothing & will be a waste of money. ...Read more

I hit my head on the car door frame right side. Lil pain today woke up big headache dizziness nausea pain from head to my nose. What do I do?
Maybe concussion: Sounds like nasty post-traumatic headache. Might be of value to phone your doctor and get local advice. Potentially self-limited and may depart over next day or so, but if you start losing balance and suffer increased head pain associated with vomiting, this would be an indication to be seen in an emergency department to be on safe side. ...Read more
Hit my head hard near the top towards back on the corner of furniture moving. Still hurts after 17 days, very painful to touch. No nausea. Normal?
Post-trauma HA: I disagree with the previous answer. 17 days after the head injury, ct head likely won't help (a head bleed would either kill someone or encapsulate and start shrinking within the first 3 days). You should see a neurologist soon, to see if this is local scalp injury or post-traumatic headache, both of which are treatable. Good luck! ...Read more
