If : If this is the first time you are dealing with a possible yeast infection then you should see your doctor for confirmation. I am assuming we are discussing vaginal yeast infections. The symptoms are vaginal itching, irritation, and a white cottage cheese like discharge. The symptoms vary. Most doctors can make the diagnosis by history and examination alone. In addition a special test called a wet mount can be done; this allows the doctor to look under the microscope and make a diagnosis based on their findings. As far as treatment goes there are multiple over the counter medications, or your doctor can prescribe you a pill and/or a cream. As far as natural alternatives, visit your local vitamin/herb store for lactobacillus acidophilus. There are many forms of this supplement. Ask for assistance.
