PPI's: Proton pump inhibitors such as omeprazole or Nexium (esomeprazole) generally have no side effects when used for only 14 days. Acid reflux: GERD can be worsened by weight gain, so losing the excess weight would be helpful. I would recommend that you avoid any particular foods which give you problems, particularly tomatoes,onions, orange juice, and citrus fruits. Tobacco and alcohol also contribute.
