Not your nose: People with complete nasal blockade will simply begin to breathe through their mouth while asleep. This is not sleep apnea. What causes my dry mouth sometimes when asleep even when there is no nasal congestion during the day? I do not have sleep apnea.
See below: Nasal congestion does not mean you have sleep apnea, for sure. But it can exacerbate it. If you snore, have morning headaches, daytime sleepiness, gasp or choke for breath at night, wake up with a dry mouth, and/or have night time acid reflux, it may be sleep apnea.
