Pnd: Unfortunately nasal steroids or antihistamines are the best meds for your problem. Otc afrin and neoaynephrine have a high rebound risk. You could try Allegra with a nasal saline but i still would go with the prescribed options listed above. Good luck. ...Read more

I have been prescribed dexarhina nasal spray for upper respiratory infection,  but it does nothing for my stuffy nose, can I replace it with otrivin?

Well: I presume that dexrhina contains Dexamethasone which should not be used for infection and would not be expected to work. I also presume the Otrivin is a nasal decongestant which can be used but should be limited to no more than 5 days . ...Read more

No: Most medications have expiration dates because of regulation (it also makes people buy more). They usually don't lose effectiveness or become dangerous. There are always exceptions but you'll be fine. ...Read more
