You : You have to take the Flonase for a week for it to be effective and you should do nasal washes on a daily basis. How often should I do a nasal irrigation that breaks up biofilm but preserves the lysozymes? Thanks or your advice!

Sounds dubious: There is an independent medical thinker who promotes a bizarre nasal irrigation system based on his own ideas about biofilms -- they're interesting and you're free to decide for yourself. But how you kill a biofilm and preserve the lysosomes that are helpful is beyond me. Since this is "pop" medicine, use it as much as you wish and you're probably safe. I'll pass this to the holists on the list. ...Read more

Help! need to know if there's an antiseptic you add in if you want to do a nasal irrigation?

Nasal Irrigation: Greetings. We often will prescribe solutions for nasal/sinus irrigations that are usually directed at treating a specific bacteria determined by a prior intranasal/sinus culture. As a regular intranasal wash, I recommend NeilMed intranasal irrigation. You can even add up to 1 capful (or 1 TBSP) of Johnson's baby shampoo to the nasal wash. This has been suggested to help restore bio films. ...Read more

Does nasal irrigation cause vertigo (bppv)?

Does nasal irrigation cause vertigo (bppv)?

No: If the nasal irrigation starts in the nostril, it is highly unlikely that the inner could react to a nasal irrigation. However, if you are using a nedi-pot to irrigate the nose and if the water gets into the middle ear through the et, it is possible that the middle ear temperature could alter the inner ear fluid temperature and the inner ear fluid would move. Vertigo can only occur by temp.Change. ...Read more
