Nasal Decongestion That Doesnt Cause Insomnia
Any natural decongestants? Sudafed causes insomnia. Flonase seems ineffective. Congestion affects sleep.
Can chronic sinusitis with inflammation only but no mucous cause upper back symptoms that respond to nasonex or benadryl (diphenhydramine)?
What causes chronic nasal congestion which responds to afrin but not astelin, flonase, or sinus rinses? Can surgery even work in a case like this?
Afrin (oxymetazoline) rebound: Afrin (oxymetazoline) causes severe narrowing of the blood vessels in the nose and thus the effect on decongestion. However prolonged constriction leads to decrease blood supply to the tissue and may lead to permanent damages. The nose also becomes less responsive to afrin (oxymetazoline) with prolonged use . Flonase counteracts inflammation and Astelin is an antihistamine and neither constricts the blood vessels. ...Read more

Can drinking water helps in nasal congestion as it is natural histamine?is dehydration cause of nasal congestion
Nasal mucus. Doesnt seem to stop. Taking a nasal spray with xylometazoline for temp relief. Any thing that can cure it permanently. Its not allergy.
How?: Need to see your doctor to get checked out. I don't know how you knew that the problem was not related to an allergy. The spray you are using should not be used for more than 5 days continuously or you may end up with nasal congestion. The spray also does not reduce runny nose , only congestion. An allergist may be the one you need to see. ...Read more
What could be cause of chronic hoarseness? No other symptoms (fever, congestion, etc.). Flonase helps, been drinking water and using humidifier too.
Hoarseness: Hoarseness sounds are generated at the vocal cords. You state that Flonase helps. That is a steroid and as such has anti-inflammatory properties to it. Do you tell or scream a lot? Are you a singer? You should see an ENT who sees a lot of singers (preferably opera singers). He will want to want to look down your throat with a flexible nasopharingoscope as you talk. See doctor: As you have already tried otc med, you need to consult your doctor and even an allergist to see what may work better for you. There is no drug which works for everyone but a combination nasal steroid/antihistamine would likely work better. Reoccurring sinus pressure (no congestion or headaches) but causes dizziness. No infection. Tried antihistamine and Sudafed to no avail. Suggestions?
Sinus: Sometimes when over the counter medicines don't work, a nasal steroid spray such as Flonase or Nasonex (mometasone) will. If dizziness persists, see your doctor to evaluate for inner ear disease. ...Read more

Can it be silent reflux? Post nasal drip and feeling like the throat (whole neck area) is expanded. Nasal spray, sinus rinse & omeprazole do not help.
Hard to say: Silent reflux in the presence of post nasal drip is more commonly associated with cough and throat irritation. Not sure what you mean by throat / neck expansion. It doesn't sound like your throat swells suddenly which would be angioedema. Another possibility is an enlarged thyroid gland. ...Read more
Can Ipratropium Bromide nasal spray help with post-nasal drip? No runny nose or front nasal discharge, just the drip. Not linked to allergy (per ENT)
Depends: It depends on the cause for the post-nasal drips. If the nasal drips is not linked to nasal stuffiness, sneezing, or runny nose, one needs to consider other causes (sinus infection for example). If your nose and eyes itch, it is likely from allergy which can confirmed by the history and skin testing. One can't tell whether one has an allergic problem by looking at the nose and throat alone. ...Read more
