My four week old daughter has a ton of nasal congestion and runny nose today. How do I know if this is the common cold or something more serious?
Have a runny nose and nasal congestion, don't feel well but no other symptoms other then that, unprotexted sex 2 weeks ago csn this be HIV?
It is not possible to say if you have HIV infection, though the risk is low. You may get a HIV nucleic acid test now and if it is negative repeat it in six months. A negative HIV nucleic acid test at 6 months after exposure would rule out HIV from that exposure.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.

Fever is a normal body reaction to illness that helps the body overcome the illness. It is important to monitor breathing which is normally easy and quiet. ...Read more
Have nasal congestion, runny nose and sneezing made worse when exposed to low temperature. Nose blocks after sneezing. Do I have nonallergic rhinitis?
Possible: But in my experience, having sneezing spells (especially if you have eye symptoms) points more to allergic than non-allergic. Nonallergic rhinitis is a diagnosis of exclusion also since one needs to prove that allergies do not play a role. You may also have both allergic and non-allergic rhinitis as well. Try a nasal steroid spray ...Read more

Allergy or a cold?: The ear problem is likely a separate issue but you nasal symptoms can be from a cold (if lasting just a few days), allergies, or even vasomotor rhinitis- can't tell given the lack of details. Most mornings I wake up with a runny nose and very often have nasal congestion. No temperature & I feel fine. No known allergies. Vasomotor rhinitis?
Combination problems: Congestion after lying down is due to dilation of nasal tissues related to gravity. That said, if your septum was straight you probably wouldn't feel congested. Also, most people have at least mild allergies so when you say "no known" do you mean negative tests?
