Knee pain is killing me from OA. unable to sleep. Naproxen 500 mg not helping at all. I want to sleep I have to wake up early. What do u advice me dr?
I am a 20 year old female currently taking Aleve (naproxen) to help with low back pain. Since I have been taking it, i've been having extreme trouble sleeping. ?
I have gad. I take Lexapro (escitalopram) & I have nightmares & trouble sleeping at times. Aleve seems to help me sleep. What should I take/do to help me sleep?
Sleep problems.: Agree w dr. Younus. Are you using principals of good sleep hygiene? Retire & rise same time each day. Bedroom should be dark & cool - used only for sex & sleep. Turn off tv. No naps. Exercise regularly but not in late evening. No caffeine for 6 hrs & no alcohol or tobacco w/i 2 hrs of sleep. Dinner should be moderate sized & finished at least 2 to 3 hours before sleep. As good as any: There are at least a dozen antiinflammatory meds on the market. Naproxen is effective but not for everyone. As far as NSAIDs?: Naproxen in a recent danish study proved safer for the heart than all other non steroidal ant-inflammatory drugs, even compared to placebo. It will replace some of my other go to drugs. But there are caveats. It can irritate the stomach. It does negate aspirins cardio-protection.
