Side effects: NAC is very safe for most people. It should not be used if you have asthma or a history of asthma or if you have a bleeding disorder as it can impair clotting. Other side effects include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Is it safe to take alpa lipoic acid, n-acetyl l-cysteine (nac) and milk thistle when  prescribed quetiapine?  The supplements i take for my liver.

Probably safe: Please speak with your own physician about this first. There are no problems with alpha-lipoic acid or nac and quetiapine, but there's a possible interaction with milk thistle. There's contradictory evidence aboutit increasing, decreasing, or having no effect on the liver enzyme system that processes quetiapine.
