Doc told me to take 25 iu vitamin d daily. Can find 25 micrograms but not 25 iu. Does such a low dose exist? I did query it but not helpful. Confused!
Doc is confused or..: Either your doc is confused or you misunderstood him or her. No matter what your doc said, most adults need 5000-8000 iu of vit d3http://bit.Ly/1ekkvkv/day in the winter months to attain optimal levels, so i strongly advise you take at least 5000 iu/day ; supplement with vit k if your diet is not rich in it. May lower BP: Not sure what you mean by "negatively affect BP." Gingko has been used medicinally for thousands of years. Research shows it may help treat Dementia, Intermittent Claudication, PMS, Anxiety, Raynaud's, Macular Degeneration etc. It may lower blood pressure in some so if taking with BP meds may cause BP to drop too low, though unlikely. It may interact with nifedipine. See http://tinyurl.com/h9gpz9l ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I have Pseudotumor Cerebri. I've read Pomegranate, milk thistle, turmeric, capsaicin all hold Carbonic Anhydrase Inhibitors naturally. Is this true?
Use with care: I can confirm that pomegranate and turmeric contain some carbonic anhydrase inhibitor activity. However, these do not have enough of this to be clinically useful. It is much more straightforward to take a small dose of diamox (acetazolamide) instead. Although it does not work for everyone with PTC, it helps many. The side effects would be the same if the medicine dose was the same. ...Read more

An article says, jarrow n acetyl glucosamine 750mg, jarrow glucosamine hci mega 1000mg, jarrow niainamide cure fructose malabsorption. Is it possible
Might help, not cure: Fructose malabsorption may be caused by deficiency of glut5 (http://en.Wikipedia.Org/wiki/glut5). I found a report of someone having relief taking the 1st 2 supps you mention (http://glutenfreesoyfree.Wordpress.Com/2012/03/05/potential-cure-for-fructose-malabsorption/) they said these heal cells that produce glut5. There's no research on this but it seems possible. However, on stopping it recurred. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
