Needless : Needless to say, i assume the cause of your transverse myelitis was investigated, and you don't have an underlying infection. That being said, have you tried acupuncture? Also, one of the hard lessons we have learned from pain management clinics is that the mistake we continue to make in trying to manage pain is we try one thing, when that doesn't work or isn't enough, we abandon that and try something else. When that isn't enough, we abandon that and then do something else. What we should be doing is add a different treatment modality to the first, and if that's not enough, add a third, and so on. It turns out that 2+2=5 when it comes to pain management, and it might take a combination of medication, physical therapy, tens treatment, acupuncture and perhaps a trigger point or spinal injection to get you to a point where you can live comfortably. I hope this advice helps you. Chronic pain is extremely difficult to live with. Good luck. ...Read more

I have a myelitis issue just recently diagnosed. I want chemotherapy to remove my immune system and stem cell repair. I refuse pills and i'm 20 help!

Take the pills!: You seem to be describing transverse myelitis. Anti-inflammatory medicines by mouth or IV are the best way to quickly protect the spinal cord and hopefully restore function. Sometimes other immune therapies like plasmapharesis, ivig, or Rituxan may help. A stem cell transplant is a risky and grueling treatment that has never been shown to help transverse myelitis and actually may cause it! ...Read more
