My Voice Is Really Ugly Is There A Way That I Can Change My Voice Permanently
Ugly how?: There are many voice problems which are correctable. If your voice is hoarse, raspy, or otherwise abnormal, then you should see your local laryngologist or ent. If you smoke, stop immediately. That will invariably damage the voice. Other problems like laryngeal reflux and vocal abuse may be causing the problem, and can be corrected. In some select cases, surgery may improve your voice. ...Read more

Therapy?: Have you yet tried any form of psychotherapy? What are signs of schizophrenia? My boyfriend initially told me he "heard voices" about a year ago. I never took him seriously because the way he said it made it seem as if he was not really having a problem. He has very unpredictable mood changes, underg
There are three types of symptoms with schizophrenia: positive symptoms, negative symptoms, and cognitive symptoms.
When a person has positive symptoms they have lost touch with reality. They may experience hallucinations. There are different types of hallucinations. A person may hear voices or sounds coming from inside or outside their head, when there is no objective noise. They may see things that aren’t there, smell things even if there is not an aroma or they may have unusual sensations in their body without a physical cause. Another positive symptom is a delusion. A delusion is a belief that a person has that is not based on reality. For instance if someone has paranoid delusions, they might fear that other people want to harm them even if there is no evidence of this. An individual might think that they have special powers. If the person has a thought disorder it is hard for them to organize their thoughts. The person may speak in a bizarre way that is confusing or unintelligible to others.
Negative symptoms can include getting little pleasure out of life; failing to take care of every day functions such as showering, changing clothes or brushing teeth; losing motivation; inability to carry out plans and lessening interactions with others. A person with negative symptoms may have very little facial expression and they might have a monotone voice. They may seem emotionless.
Cognitive symptoms might not be as obvious as positive symptoms. They could include problems focusing, memory problems or difficulty understanding what is going on.
Illicit drug use can cause symptoms that mimic some of the features of schizophrenia. Bipolar disorder and schizophrenia can also share features. People with bipolar disorder can have marked issues with their mood.
Anyone presenting with the symptoms discussed above needs a thorough evaluation by a psychiatrist which includes a medical evaluation for possible physical causes of symptoms. These are definately signs of a serious problem. Making comments about "ending it" are of particular concern. If your boyfriend threatens to kill himself, 911 should be contacted. ...Read more
Hi I would like to know what is the age range for teen guy voice to change and I'm 17 and I don't want it to change so would it anyway?
Get Ready To Mutate:
"Adolescent boys' voices often begin to mutate at 12-13 years of age and taper between 15-18. During this time, lower pitches tend to be more stable than upper pitch ranges, and most of the active changes tend to occur within one year."

My13 yrs son is now 148cm tall. He is very much worried about his height. His voice is not changed yet. Any exercise / medicine can help him?
Depends on situation: If his height progression is > 5-7cm/yr & he always been shorter than his age group, this may represent his genetic height. This would be consistent for an average parent height of 163 cm. If his parents are taller he may enter puberty later & grow after his friends stop. If growth is <5cm/y or no signs of puberty by 14 he should have a growth evaluation. Meds will not improve on a genetic height. ...Read more

Totally possible: If you haven't developed the characteristics of an adult male, eapecially when it comes to your genitals, it is possible that your testosterone never did its job. You should consult with a hormone specialist (endocrinologist) for a good work up after talking to your primary doc. ...Read more

Reflux: This is typically the first sign of gastroesophageal reflux disease. I'm a guy who is 27 now and my voice still sounds squeaky on the phone or on mic. Any way to change this?
Possibly: As an ENT I'm a specialist able to assess your voice w/ the use of a good physical exam and history. The physical exam will likely include a flexible endoscopy/laryngoscopy (looking at your larynx with a flexible scope after/with local anesthetic in the office) and possible stroboscopic exam of your larynx and vocal cords to assess their movement and other properties. Seek out specialist care ...Read more
How can I change my really girly voice? When I call people on the phone they mistaken me for a girl when I'm a guy. So what do I do?
N ot usually: This is an excellent question. If the adenoid is very large, you might experience a temporary change in the quality of your voice. If there is no palatal insufficiency, it is unlikely that any permanent change will occur. I am basing the answer on adenoidectomy in children. It is quite rare for an adult to require an adenoidectomy, unless perhaps a biopsy is being performed. No voice change. ...Read more

Does deepening of voice is solely determined by hormonal changes in women? Can a woman with proper hormonal balance have a deeper voice than average?
Yes: Average means that some normal individuals will he higher and others will be lower. More worrisome than a lower-than-average voice in a woman would be a sudden change, where someone who previously had an average range voice now has a much lower-pitched voice. ...Read more
I'm 41 Are there any conditions where adult my age grows couple inches taller but has NO other symptoms like phys changes, feet grow, voice deepen etc?
Sound travels: Much faster through helium than through air. The wavelength of the sound wave of your voice is created by the shape of your vocal cords, which is not affected by helium. By simple physics, the speed of a sound wave equals its frequency multiplied by its wavelength. So if the speed increases (because of helium), and the wavelength stays the same, the sound frequency must increase. ...Read more
No change: Many great singers have had tonsil removal and their voices do not change. Remember, the voice is produced by traceho-bonchial air moving past the laryngeal opening. The removal of the palatine tonsils, if anything, could improve the quality of the voice by expanding the supra-laryngeal space (space above the larynx). This space changes the quality of the sound produced and may improve it. ...Read more
