Yesterday, i couldn't bend my thumb and today, every time i move my wrist too much, i get sharp pains where my thumb bone meets my index finger bone.
Thumb pain: A couple of thoughts... It could be an overuse injury, a tendonitis, it could be a flare up of arthritis caused by a previous injury. In these situations, i usually try to first rest the hand - no trying to "test" it to see if it hurts, or do any lifting or repetitive motions. I take Ibuprofen and see how it goes over a day or two. I hurt my wrist by lifting heavy thing now my wrist hurts on the pinky side pain radiates to my finger but i can still move my wrist.
Many possibilities: Ulnar sided wrist pain can be attributed to a lot of pathologies. The most common would be ecu tendonitis or a tear/sprain of the tfcc.
