More than a sprain: Who diagnosed the high ankle sprain? A bump on the heel not usually associated with high ankle sprain. Pain and deformity in the back of the ankle suggests an achilles injury or even heel bone fracture. What medication: If your immune system is working well, your lymph nodes will often get enlarged and can be painful as it filters out the badness. You did not state if they determined what specific infection it was (if they determined the cause) and if you are on antibiotics. There is a chance the infection can get walled off somewhere near the tonsils and you get an abcess. Meds will help, but ENT may be needed. ...Read more

You state: If I am reading correctly that you "went over on ankle" - then you ask what could it be...sounds like you just told us you sprained your ankle. Why the toe would be swollen I am not sure, but an xray would be in order for a swollen toe. "Ball of toe" = not sure what you mean by this.) ...Read more

Sore throat: Sounds like pharyngitis or tonsilitis. You should see a board certified otolaryngologist. Sounds like a possible "strep throat". You need to be evaluated for antibiotics. Also may require a steroid injection depending on the amount of swelling. Hope this helps. ...Read more
