Bring her to Dr. Now: It is worrisome that a child who has been on amoxicillin for 4 days is still having fever and pain. You should have your child seen immediately. You mentioned that only one tonsil is swollen with pus on it. She may have a peritonsillar access, which is a collection of infection behind the tonsil that may need to be drained. There are other possibilities but have her re-evaluated urgently! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Very Swollen tonsils coated with a ton of white puss and now one of my Tonsils has what looks to be a black and blue bruise mixed with puss. Currently?
Doctor can check: It's not easy to see and describe one's own tonsils. Throat and tonsil symptoms can be from flu or cold viruses, strep throat, EBV virus, etc... My 3 yr old bumped her mouth on the toddler rail of her bed pretty hard. Her front tooth is lightly loose, a little bleeding & her lip is swollen?
Call your dentist.: You should visit your dentist's office and let them take a look. The tooth may need care immediately, in the future or not at all. It may turn color, and the developing permanent teeth are also at risk from this type of injury. Right now is the time for initial assessment, & an x-ray. Often nothing needs to be done immediately (especially if your child is improving and out of pain). ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Watchful waiting.: If you don't have a fever, don't have enlarged lymph nodes on the side of the neck, and you're otherwise feeling okay, you can probably wait a few days before seeing the doctor. The white lines could be pus... But not necessarily. Sometimes plain 'ole mucus can look like whitish lines on the tonsils. I would try gargling with warm salt water and some Ibuprofen for a few days, then see doc. ...Read more
