My Toddler Refuses To Eat Anything Green Is That Okay
Picky eating common: Picky eating is very common, most often meats or vegetables. Some of the other answers gave you some clever suggestions; i'd also use a multivitamin as some insurance. One last word of advice--continue to offer them, but don't force them nor play games to try to get them in..Neither works, and either way you'll wind up with a behavioral problem worse than the feeding concern you began with! ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

Welcome to picky: Not unusual behavior for 18 month old to be fussy or picky eater. At least he likes fruits. As you have discovered you can't force him to eat what he doesn't want. My baby is seven month old and she doesn't likes anything to eat except milk. How and what should I feed her?
Fruits, vegetables.: Your baby is at the age where she should be starting solids, in addition to breast milk or formula. Try mashed avocado, ripe mashed banana, sweet potatoes, applesauce, some rice cereal. It takes time, don't stop trying. When babies nurse the tongue thrusts outward. So in starting solids it takes a bit for baby to learn to take food in and swallow. Patience, and you will be rewarded. ...Read more

My child has a mild fever and doesn't want to eat or drink anything. If she tries to eat she just throws it up. What should I do?
Has to drink: Kids who don't feel well don't eat well. They make up for it the day they feel better, so don't worry about that. The drinking is more significant. A child who has fever, doesn't drink, and is vomiting is at risk for dehydration. Give small sips of liquid, maybe as small as a teaspoon, every few minutes. Even if he vomits, the body will absorb some. If it continues, see your doctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What do I do if my 5 month old baby has bad acid reflux? I put rice cereal in his bottle but it only makes him constipated.
My 14mo son is a picky eater, who doesn't like textures still. I give him baby cereal in organic cows milk to supplement his diet. Is that ok to do?
Texture aversion: Texture aversions can be caused by a few different things, but a swallowing study with a trained speech or occupational therapist may be in order to evaluate for physical causes for your son's symptoms. In the interim, supplementing with cows milk and cereals (provided he has no cow milk sensitivity or lactose intolerance) should not be harmful. Pediasure is another alternative supplement. ...Read more
Rarely if ever: I am not a big fan of giving any juice to babies or children since most juices are just sugar and water. Babies should drink breast milk/formula until 6 months, then water can be added. I also discourage juice since once juice is given, some babies won't like their breast milk/formula/water as much. If you are going to give juice, i definitely recommend diluting it as much as possible. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers

My 14 month old is such a picky eater and he will not drink his whole milk. I know it cannot be healthy. Any tips?
Independent toddler: Offer and don't force foods and beverage, however, provide as best of a "balanced" diet as you can. Remember, toddler's are not sophisticated with varieties of foods like most adults. Consider creative ways to introduce food items. If milk is an important liquid to offer in your home, try mixing with flavors or create a smoothie. Don't let him see you stress out! ...Read more

Be patient: Texture is one of the variables that kids must master in their own time. It may take dozens of offerings before you reach success. My son has autism. He is not a picky eater however he will not sit to eat. Sometimes I have to feed him to get him to eat. What can I do about this?
Behavioral therpay: A little compromise, reward mechanism and positive feedback helps. For example, if the autistic child likes a certain activity or desert, one can use those as a positive reinforcement tool. A reward mechanism is created where the child knows he or she will get rewarded after the meal is completed. One on one consultation with a behavior therapist can provide many tools.
