My daughter has thrown up about 4 times she can only drink water and has had a fever twice help!!

Encourage her: To drink small amounts every hour of Pedialyte or Gatorade (something more than water that has glucose/salts etc). A small Dixie cup amount every half hour or so will help. The idea is small amounts are absorbed quickly before you throw it up. Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen for fever. The causes of vomit and fever are many and I would suggest you have her evaluated if worsening or not better today ...Read more

It may also be behavioral or normal intake. Additional symptoms that would raise diabetes concern include weight loss, abdominal pain, or waking up at night due to thirst. I recommend evaluation by PCP. ...Read more

My daughter of 5 years has bad sickness & diarrhoea and can't keep water down, what do you suggest we do? Not give her any drink?

Hydrate!: Depriving her of hydration would be the worst thing for her health, and a dangerous idea. Not drinking + fever + diarrhea are all ways she is at risk of dehydration. You should get her seen by her doctor or an urgent care or emergency department. She may need IV fluid and other medicine to get her through. This is of more urgency if she hasn't been making urine today- means she's very dry. ...Read more
