My Stools Are Hard To Pass
Today I had the normal natural feeling to poop, so I took a seat and waited for it to naturally do its thing. Then I realized my stool was hard and passed through almost all the way until it couldn't pass anymore. I then decided to try again later. The ne

Maybe Hypothyroid: Hypothyroidism is a common cause of constipation. Other causes include inadequate fiber, and inadequate fluid. I recommend metamucil every day (fiber), plus plenty of water, and magnesium. You can't od on magnesium, because too much will cause diarrhea. Start with 500 mg or so, and increase your dose every couple of days until you reach "bowel tolerance"--then back off to a comfortable dose. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I have what i believe is known as hematochezia i was recently taking hCG drops for weight loss but as of dec 9 2012 i stoppd for maintenance phase and my stools hardened and became harder to pass and when I do have a bowel movement there is dark red blood
It happens: First off the drops are worthless and do not work. You need to have the diet administered by a qualified physician, injectable hcg, and strict 500 calorie diet. When on the proper diet it is typical to have a bm every 3-4 days, you must drink plenty of water. When you do the wrong diet and take bogus drops you will get constipation which will irritate rectum/anus and cause blood in stools. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

My stool is always thick heavy pasty but soft but it's still hard to pass. What can I do to get my stool to become more light and loose?
Fiber, fluids & exer: I don't know about making your stool "more light" but you can't argue against fiber, fluid & exercise to keep from being constipated. Ideally, you'd get your fiber from your foods but there are also fiber supplements available along w/stool softeners, too. Don't worry about consistency as long as you don't have to strain. Check w/your doc re need for colonoscopy (low risk vs high). ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
