Possibly reflux: You may be experiencing signs and symptoms of reflux esophagitis. This is when gastric acid and stomach contents are being pushed up into the esophagus. Hard to say: but the fact that you have kept drinking despite the fact that your back hurts when you drink tells me that I should be concerned that you may have an alcohol problem. It could be inflammation of your pancreas, stomach, duodenum or a problem with your gallbladder. Alcohol burns any mucosal surface you put it on - if you have ever put rubbing alcohol on a cut and it burns like crazy, that is what ethyl alcohol is also potentially doing to your stomach - causes esophagitis, gastritis and duodenitis and can worsen ulcers as well. How much beer?: If you are talking 1-2 beers, I have no clue. If you are drinking to get drunk, many things are possible. Damage to the esophagus, stomach, duodenum and pancreas can all be felt in the back in some people. However, if EVERY time you drink beer your back hurts, and you keep drinking beer, you have to consider whether you have an alcohol problems.
