My Stomach Feels Weird After Drinking Alcohol
Why would drinking alcohol EASE my stomach. If my stomach is weak the acids should make it worse (right?) but it always makes me feel better. Why?

Why do I feel my stomach warm when drinking alcohol on empty stomach. But when I have eaten something I don't feel it warm. Also there is no pain.

If you don't have any food in your stomach to absorb the alcohol with, you are more likely to feel the effects of just the alcohol alone. Having food in your stomach slows down the rate of absorption of the alcohol and therefore you wouldn't feel those effects quite as easily. ...Read more

That is why most wise people eat a snack or cheese bites before drinking. Another safety factor is to drink at a slow pace, taking about one hour to finish one alcoholic drin ...Read more

Gastritis or spasm: Sounds like a good reason to avoid the empty calories. Upper middle (/epigastric) discomfort from alcohol can be due to gastritis--when the stomach lining becomes irritated/raw/inflamed and painful when exposed to noxious substances; or could be an allergic-type response, causing esophageal spasm, which usually lasts 10-20 minutes per episode and is extremely uncomfortable. Try avoidance. ...Read more
