On the other hand, you could be dealing with a vaginal/pelvic infection(bacterial, yeast, or even std). I had a perforated appendix removed 2 years ago - was quite sick - have since suffered irregular painful periods, recurring ovarian cysts, bloating, abdominal pain and discomfort, indigestion and full feeling, flatulence - any connection?

Try over the counter beabo or gas-x. Also, you could be dealing with lactose intolerance, try a week with no dairy products and monitor for improvement. To answer your question, "is it anything serious" is very difficult. The most worrisome thing would be a tumor (benign or cancerous) but that is not very likely.
