Not neccessarily: I would be be much happier as an ophthalmologist if the child was screaming or complaining. Corneal abrasions hurt. Injuries to the white of the can be painful or not. Penetrating injuries even with a piece of plastic that is described as ""sharp" cause me great concern about potential puncture wounds that can be devastating. The child needs urgent evaluation by a child friendly ophthalmologist. ...Read more

See your doctor: the black eye is generally due to superficial skin and under the skin bleeding related to an injury. However the bloody mucus suggests you may have sustained some trauma to the nasal cavity and/ sinuses. You should get it checked out. Please be careful with how you sustained the initial injury!
