Recommendations, on adding nuts & seeds to the diet while still encouraging weight loss? Would like to supplement w/ fruit, veggie, almond smoothies.

1 ounce/day: Nuts and seeds are great to add to a weight loss plan. Realize that one ounce of nuts is 200 calories. One ounce of nuts a day is all you need for protein, unsaturated fat. Take into account the calories from the nuts and seeds when you do eat them. They are healthy foods and should be a part of everyones plan. ...Read more

Can a diet high in soy protein smoothies help one lose weight?

Can a diet high in soy protein smoothies help one lose weight?

Not by itself: Some food plans may include protein shakes or smoothies as meal replacements, but you can't rely exclusively on these for nutrition. If you're adding the smoothies onto a diet that already contains the amount of calories and nutrients you need, you will not lose weight. It may help to review your overall food plan with a nutritionist to see how the soy smoothies fit into it. Exercise too! ...Read more

How to lose weight with fruit and vegetables smoothies? Are they good for you? Do they help you feel less hungry over a period of time?

How to lose weight with fruit and vegetables smoothies? Are they good for you? Do they help you feel less hungry over a period of time?

Losing weight: To lose weight, get ur resting metabolism rate done(weight loss centers do this). This determines the total number of calories you need to lose 1-2lbs/week. Decreasing 500cal/day will give you a 1lb wt loss in 1wk; drink water (1/2 your body weight), eat small meals about 150-200cal 2-4x/(depending on your metabolism rate) and 500cal/meal at night: lean protein/veggies; avoid carbs, . ...Read more

Trying to lose weight, drink smoothies twice a day. Should i be using protein powder in both of them? I have more fat then muscle, i am exercising. TY

Using protein powder: will only add calories. Protein daily requirement is 50gms. You only need to supplement if you are doing heavy workouts. It alone will not cause weight loss. A good balanced diet and an exercise program will give results. You must be aware that if you lose fat & replace it with muscle, you may see no great wt. loss but you will be more defined & healthy. Be sure calories in are more than cal in, ...Read more

What is adhs? I seen it on an answer pertaining to weight loss problems

What is adhs? I seen it on an answer pertaining to weight loss problems

Snake oil: It is one of many unregulated, un tested, and non-sensical agents sold for the purpose of weight loss. Its claim is adrenal regulation, but there are no ingredients in it to do that; if there were, it would be only used for specific syndromes managed under the care of an endocrinologist. Ask your doctor about a diet and exercise program. ...Read more

Diet: All the diets in the world will not work without motivation. Suggest you start by eating three meals a day and leaving the table satisfied but not feeling stuffed. Totally eliminate snacks and sugar containing soft drinks. Begin a regular exercise program and have patience. This may take time to work. It is simple arithmetic. If you take in less than you are expending you will lose weight. ...Read more
