I get headaches everyday, have for around 2 years. Currently on amitriptyline, don't seem to be working but hospital can't find anything wrong, help!
Chronic migraine: Almost certainly you have migraines, the most common cause of chronic headaches with a normal exam. Amitriptyline is one preventative, perhaps another agent would work better. If you are taking an otc pain med or something like fiorcet, you may have rebound/medication overuse headaches. You need a good acute agent (ie a triptan ie imitrex).
