Popping noises in nose aftee blowing it. .I'm still getting over a sinus infection on med second one won't go away?

Nasal sprays/M.D.: Sinusitis may take weeks to resolve and require more than one course of antibiotics. Nasal irrigation with nasal saline rinses and nasal steroid sprays may lessen the time to recovery. Monitor your temperature and reporting continued symptoms and report fever to your physician. I hope that this helps. ...Read more

I've had thick and runny and yellow drainage for 3 1/2 weeks, tried everything and it won't go away it's even hard to swallow is it a sinus infection?

Yes: A bacterial sinus infection usually takes 7-10 days to develop. Now that it has been 3.5 weeks, this sounds most likely to be an infection. You should see a doctor to be placed on an antibiotic for 7-10 days. It would be advised that you use nasal saline spray 2-3 times a day purchased over the counter and i like to recommend Mucinex (guaifenesin) taken twice daily for about a week to help thin the mucus. ...Read more

I have a sinus infection that will not go away, what are the holistic remedies?

I have a sinus infection that will not go away, what are the holistic remedies?

No easy answers but: This is a complex problem without easy answers. Often there is a component of allergy & mold exposure; a good air filter/ionizer can help. Most chronic sinus problems have a fungal component & antibiotics make this worse. Irrigation with xylitol & silver hydrosol solution can help. Olive leaf extract, andrographis & other herbs can help. See the book sinus survival by rob ivker md. See comment:. ...Read more

How long does it take for a sinus infection to go away?

Depends on cause: Most, if viral, resolve in 10-14 days. Fungal or chronic bacterial sinus infections may require treatment and would persist longer without it. If a recurrent problem, then the immune system can be evaluated. Also would need to treat any chronic allergic or non-allergic rhinitis (chronic congestion, loss of smell, nasal drip, sneezing/itching etc). ...Read more

Sinus infection 2 mos ago didn't quite go away with meds. Little better still blocked up, why do both cheeks under cheekbone appear sunken in now?

Sunken cheeks: It sounds like it's not that the area below your cheekbones are sunken (this would be quite unusual) but maybe that your cheekbones and above, in the area around your eye, may be swollen giving you this appearance. I would return to see your doctor or an ENT to confirm the persistence of your sinus infection. ...Read more

Suspect I have a sinus infection. Will it go away on its own or do I need to see the doctor?

Give it 5-7 days: Most upper respiratory infections (uri's/common cold) are viral & cause congestion, facial pressure, purulent drainage, & fever. They last ~5-7 days. Treat conservatively with otc products, sinus rinses (and good hand washing). Usually symptoms start to improve in 5-7 days. Antibiotics are *usually* not needed before then. If symptoms are severe or worsen after 7d, see your md or ent. ...Read more

How can Celestone (betamethasone) shot help persistent sinus infection? I am on my 2nd round of antibitioics and it doesn't want to go away. Doc put shot today,

Antiinflammatory: Celestone is a steroid and steroids are anti-inflammatory medications. They cut down on the swelling and inflammation that is so often a factor in chronic sinusitis.
