Nasal sprays/M.D.: Sinusitis may take weeks to resolve and require more than one course of antibiotics. I've had thick and runny and yellow drainage for 3 1/2 weeks, tried everything and it won't go away it's even hard to swallow is it a sinus infection?
Yes: A bacterial sinus infection usually takes 7-10 days to develop. Now that it has been 3.5 weeks, this sounds most likely to be an infection. You should see a doctor to be placed on an antibiotic for 7-10 days. It would be advised that you use nasal saline spray 2-3 times a day purchased over the counter and i like to recommend Mucinex (guaifenesin) taken twice daily for about a week to help thin the mucus. ...Read more

Sinus infection 2 mos ago didn't quite go away with meds. Little better still blocked up, why do both cheeks under cheekbone appear sunken in now?
Sunken cheeks: It sounds like it's not that the area below your cheekbones are sunken (this would be quite unusual) but maybe that your cheekbones and above, in the area around your eye, may be swollen giving you this appearance. I would return to see your doctor or an ENT to confirm the persistence of your sinus infection. ...Read more
Give it 5-7 days: Most upper respiratory infections (uri's/common cold) are viral & cause congestion, facial pressure, purulent drainage, & fever. They last ~5-7 days. Treat conservatively with otc products, sinus rinses (and good hand washing). Usually symptoms start to improve in 5-7 days. Antibiotics are *usually* not needed before then. If symptoms are severe or worsen after 7d, see your md or ent. ...Read more
