Imaging?: Have you had any imaging-back xray MRI to see if there is any inflammation of any of the nerves that come out of the back, or if any disks are bulging against the spinal cord or nerves coming from the back and down the legs or from the neck down the arms? Maybe a neurologist would perform an EMG on the muscles in your right arm, feet and legs. Falling down is definitely not normal and concerning ...Read more

Depends.: If this just started in the last 24-72 hours, you should get seen at an ER today. If it has been going on longer than that, see a doc this week for appropriate exam and testing. Hard to say what is going on without more history and an exam. If this started within the last 1-3 hours call an ambulance or get taken to the ER right now! ...Read more

Numb/tingling in hands, legs, and feet on both sides. Muscle spasms in legs, back and arms. Loss of balance, dizzy, stiff. Is it Neuropathy or ms?

A common cause of neuropathy is a diabetic condition w/ other signs too - are you a diabetic? Get into care if 'yes'! MS usually starts a bit later in age. Have an exam to find an answer. Best! ...Read more

Unexplained numbness: You're right, that is a tough case. When you have these symptoms in the arms and legs, sometimes it arises from the brain or the spinal cord, which explains your MRI studies. Sometimes it is caused by something with the nerves, the nerves in the arms and legs. For this cause, sometimes blood testing or nerve conduction tests are helpful. Hope this helps you! ...Read more

My right shoulder down to my fingers is numb, tingling & painful everyday. My other arm & feet are starting to do it once in awhile now. What's wrong?

Poss Cervical Spine: Based on your reported symptoms the most common place where this would occur is your cervical spine. Involvement of your feet could potentially signify involvement of your cervical spinal cord. Another consideration would be a peripheral neuropathy but the symptoms usually start in the feet before the upper extremities. Please meet with your doctor to discuss what further action is needed. ...Read more

Cervical disc: Not unusual for patients in their 50-60s to have wear of their discs in both neck and low back which as they wear produces narrowing of the bony tunnels leading away from the spinal cord., When this occurs the nerves in both the neck and low back become pinched, This can lead to pain, numbness and tingling, weakness So this is not a case of spreading, Rather it's a process occurring simultaneo ...Read more

Dr suspects disc herniation bc I have bad pain&numbness in my back, arms, &both legs. Lately my hands/bottom of feet hurt to. Could it be RA instead?

Less likely: While it is not impossible for RA to affect large joints like the back/spine, it is much more likely to affect the smaller joints such as in the fingers. However, in order for there to be a disc herniation affecting both your arms and legs it would have to be quite high up, in your upper back or neck. Testing, including CT/MRI imaging, and blood tests are needed. Work with your doctor to diagnose. ...Read more

25f frequent back pains and spontaneous numbness in arm/hand/fingers/feet & toes! When I press on my lower spin above my butt crack it feels like pins and needles?

Sounds like nerve: Most likely condition would be a pinched nerve. The nerves that supply the feet stem from nerve branches traveling from the leg. The "pinch" could be from the back at its root, but it an also be locally due to musculature. Another thing to be checked is circulation because if blood flow is hampered to a an area, it can cause pain and reduce function in the nerves. Get checked properly. ...Read more
