Neurologist eval.: There are many reasons for a person to have hand tremors. Some are inherited, some are due to medications, and some are from fatigue and muscle soreness as well as other causes. A neurologist should be able to help you sort through all the possibilities and eliminate problems. If you are lucky enough to have a neurologist specializing in movement disorders, that's best.

What does it mean when your right hand always shakes its shakes all the time when I go to us it.?

Tremor: Sounds like you have a tremor. Tremors can be benign "familial" tremors, or can be caused by some other underlying conditions that would need to be ruled out. See a dr. (usually neurologist) to get an evaluation. Best wishes to you.

Essential tremor: At your age, this is likely essential tremor. Et occurs with use, such as handwriting, holding a cup, or using a spoon. Parkinsons tremor tends to occur at rest, and is associated with other symptoms. It is rare in someone your age. See your physician - there are simple treatment for et.

My dad's right hand shakes uncontrollably at times. What could this be?

My dad's right hand shakes uncontrollably at times. What could this be?

Idiopathic tremor: If it shakes when he tries to do something think about intention tremor. Also some meds can cause a tremor as well. If it is an intention tremor have him see a hand surgeon or a neurologist as I have found low dose Propranolol quite helpful. In fact, I treated my dad's tremor successfully with it. Hope this helps :).

My right hand shakes, I mean I can put my two hands in the air and the right one keeps shaking and I don't think that this is normal, should I worry?

See neurologist!: Although familial tremor is a possibility, need more history. Duration, how long, etc. Etc. Must rule out more serious problems. See you pcp and get an appt. With a neurologist as soon as possible.

I've had weakness in my right hand. No pain or numbness. It's getting harder to write or type (hand shakes).?

Dr. Jeffrey Ng Dr. Ng
2 doctors agreed:

Go see your doc: Even though you don't have numbness, you need to see a neurologist. Weakness is not a good sign. Possibilities include a stroke, carpal tunnel syndrome, cervical disc at c7....Go see your doc.

My right hand often shakes or trembles. Sometimes I can make it stop if I concentrate only on that for awhile. Is something wrong or am I crazy?

My right hand often shakes or trembles. Sometimes I can make it stop if I concentrate only on that for awhile. Is something wrong or am I crazy?

No, not crazy: It is not a problem in your hand. But more likely something more general like "essential tremor" (not progressive or due to underlying disease), parkinson's (usually at rest). Also anxiety and drug side affects can cause it. Treatment depends upon correct diagnosis for which you should see a neurologist.

Neurologist: Hand tremors can be caused by multiple conditions. You should be referred to or make an appointment with a neurologist for evaluation and treatment.

My right hand thumb shakes sometimes. Is it a sign of some disease? I don't feel any numbness or pain in thumb.

My right hand thumb shakes sometimes. Is it a sign of some disease? I don't feel any numbness or pain in thumb.

Possible: However jot probable. Tremors can be normal. How long has it been there? What does your diet consist of? Do you smoke or take medications that can cause this...When in question go to your pcp.

Hello I'm from india. My dad's right hand shakes uncontrollably from last 16-17 days. Dr.Prem gupta can you suggest good doctor in aims.

Do not know AIIMS: I do not know any neurologist in aiims delhi. Search for an experienced neurologist online specifically looking for movement disorder specialist. It could also represent partial motor seizures if there is any impairment of consciousness during the uncontrollable shaking.

Tremors: Could be due to familial essential tremor, unlikely early parkinson's, and possible hyperthyroidism, or even wilson's disease. Just some thoughts, not a final diagnosis, so see a neurologist and get this answered.

Get medical care: Those are very concerning symptoms. If someone has had a stroke they may have symptoms similar to yours. I would recommend going to a doctor tonight or to the emergency room to be checked. You don't want things to get worse and then not be able to go back and fix it. Be seen tonight.

It seems like everyday my hands tend to shake a lot, mostly just my right hand. What could this be?

It seems like everyday my hands tend to shake a lot, mostly just my right hand. What could this be?

Tremors: This could be genetic, such a familial essential tremor, or due to a medication, or too much coffee, or, if the shaking is when the hands are at rest, a parkinson disease type of issue. Since hyper-thyroidism could also be a culprit, have your doctor evaluate this. Multiple treatment options are available for all of these possibilities.

Fatigue: Fatigue can sometimes cause shaking. It is not a reason to stop doing the physical work and may be you should consider exercising regularly to improve your stamina and reduce weight.

Hi! I was wondering if you could help me. Just the past 2 day of working out with my personal trainer, my right hand begins to shake excessively.?

Right hand shaking: Hello ~ this is probably because your wrist muscles and tendons are not used to the strain. There is no age given you here and the older you are the worse it will be. The answer is to wrap the wrist in an elasticised support and then go about strengthening the wrist slowly with increasing weight stress. Tell your trainer and get him involved because next issue will be severe tenosynovitis. thx
