Probably the back: This is likely coming from a back sprain . You may have a disc problem though you are young for this problem. Contact sports could allow back injury that becomes symptomatic at a later date. You should rest your back, avoid long periods of sitting or standing. Related or unrelated: Low back pain associated with leg pain is common , often associated with nerve compression in the lumbar spine. Calf swelling, if related, is usually related to reduced leg mobility. Sounds like nerve: Most likely condition would be a pinched nerve. The nerves that supply the feet stem from nerve branches traveling from the leg. The "pinch" could be from the back at its root, but it an also be locally due to musculature. Another thing to be checked is circulation because if blood flow is hampered to a an area, it can cause pain and reduce function in the nerves.
