Prefer in person.: Very rarely is it appropriate to prescribe a new medication by phone. I can't find a doc in LA that is willing to help me with my Xanax (alprazolam) prescription that I've had for years. HELP! I've called over 50?
Physicians: You appear to be seeking a drug dealer. Not a physician. A real physician would advise you that it is time to treat your problem rather then to just numb up your feelings. Xanax (alprazolam) is not curative. It does not treat a problem. It is a temporary sedative. It is not for long term use. I would advise you to find a physician and not a drug dealer. ...Read more

Currently taking zolof, and am having adverse reactions such as a foggy, speedy feeling. I have been prescribed 50 mg of zolof. I have cut the prescription in half, to lessen the effects. I am currently on state medical assistance and have called the med
Hello. I can't diagnose your problem. I am sorry to hear that none of your calls have been returned. It is obvious that you are concerned about what is going on medically. Although each doctor prescribes differently, I normally start patients off with 25 mg of zoloft (sertraline) to help prevent side effects. After about a week, the dose is increased to 50mg per day. It is not uncommon to feel more jittery or anxious after starting the medication and this usually decreases fairly quickly. Although it is recommended that you don't change medication doses without input from your doctor, it sounds like you already made a number of attempts to make that contact.
Now, if you have a marked increase in energy, your thoughts are rapid, you can't sleep at night, you are talking and moving rapidly that could be another issue. Occassionally, use of an antidepressant can lead to mania or hypomania in a person who has an underlying predisposition for bipolar disorder. In that situation, I would advise my patient to stop the medication.
My input can't substitute for your doctor's but hopefully, this basic information is helpful. Take care. ...Read more
