When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

My wife is 12 weeks into pregnancy. She just done 2 hr glucose test & the result is 3.7 during fast and 8.3 after 2 hours.she is 30yrs old.
Depends: If you did the one-hour test, it means you need to do the definitive 3-hour test. If it was one elevation on the 3-hour test, then you are not a gestational diabetic (unless your one was a really elevated fasting glucose). It is a good idea to watch your diet and carbs if you had one elevation tho. ...Read more

I received a blood glucose test about a month ago, and my number came up at 150. I went back today after a 12hr fast, and was 108. Am I pre-diabetic?
Maybe (not) . . .: Pre-diabetes is a great term but definitions are rather loose. If checking glucose, best to draw blood after fasting all night long. Normal result should be less than 100. Impaired fasting glucose is 100-125. Diabetes is higher. Or check A1c which gives info re average sugar over past 3 months. Normal is less than 5.7. 5.7-64 is pre-diabetes or at elevated risk. Higher is consistent w/diabetes. ...Read more

This requires repeat testing at about the time of your 6 week post-partum check-up to know for sure. It does increase the risk of developing diabetes later in life so it's a good idea to watch your diet and weight let your doctors know. ...Read more
