My poop has been green for three days. What can I take for this?

My poop has been green for three days. What can I take for this?

Why: There is no need to take anything just because the color of the stool has changed. Probably excess bile or something you ate.

My 9 week old son poops once every 10 days. Yet, he's pooped 3 times in the past three days, 1 for everyday, andhis poop has been bright green/watery/stringy. Could therebe a problem?

Probably ok: Frequent, loose, sometimes greenish stools in infants indicate "rapid transit" of stools that can be due to host of issues but unless he is not eating, having fever, appearing ill may resolve with just observation or care with the diet if other foods have been introduced. If adding new foods this may be part of the problem but not necessarily mean they have to be stopped if this problem resolves.

Diarrhea: I need more information. Did her doctor request a stool culture? If that was done & it showed bacterial infection then you are on the right track. Modifying her diet and keeping her hydrated is very important. I hope she gets better soon.

I have been pooping green for almost 3 weeks. Only having about three or four brown poop in that time.

Green stool: The green is bile that is traveling too quickly through your intestine for the bacteria to turn it brown. Conditions that may cause it (diarrhea) include: laxative use, food poisoning, celiac disease, C.diff diarrhea, malabsorption, IBD, infectious diarrhea, alcohol abuse.excess iron supplements or gall stones. Without any symptoms or medical or social hx, cant suggest a cause in you.

My baby is three months old and she poops green. Sometimes it gets worse than others what could it be?

My baby is three months old and she poops green. Sometimes it gets worse than others what could it be?

Food: The food your baby eats dictates the color of the bm. Formula fed babies have green poops from supplemental iron. Breast fed babies can have green poops from cracked nipples. If you're fine, and the baby is fine, don't worry.

My three-month-old BF baby has normally had yellow colored poop. But tonight she just had a green poop is that normal?

My three-month-old BF baby has normally had yellow colored poop. But tonight she just had a green poop is that normal?

Breast milk poo: The stool of breast fed babies can vary in color and consistency without cause for concern, provided there is no blood, fever, vomiting, irritability, abdominal distension or loss of weight. If other children in the home or daycare are having similar symptoms, it may be due to infection.

Gas OK: It is common for infants to be gassy. If she is stooping normally and has normal growth, it should not be a problem.

I have soft mushy brown stool for a week? No controll over holding in stool? And these past three days my stool has been green? And no pain or blood?

I have soft mushy brown stool for a week? No controll over holding in stool? And these past three days my stool has been green? And no pain or blood?

Soft stools: The color of the stool doesn't matter. It sounds like you have a viral infection, lactose intolerance or a reaction to something you ate. My best advice is to avoid all dairy products for 3-5 days and limit your diet to Bananas, rice, fresh apples, tea, dry toast and yogurt (vanilla or lemon). The yogurt replenishes the good bacteria in yuur bowel.

I have had nausea abdominal pain and green stool for the past three days, what could it be?

I have had nausea abdominal pain and green stool for the past three days, what could it be?

Green stool + pain: The color of stool varies with foods, speed of emptying of the GI tract, medications & supplements ingested, gut flora (unique for each individual), additives (like blood), subtractions (like absent bile), infection, inflammation, & other factors. Consider what you consumed in the last few days. Given your symptoms however its best to see your doctor for evaluation, particularly if persistent.

I gave my three year old son Miralax (polyethylene glycol) once last week to help with mild constipation and his stool has been loose and green for about 5-6 days ever since. Is that normal? Should I be concerned?

I gave my three year old son Miralax (polyethylene glycol) once last week to help with mild constipation and his stool has been loose and green for about 5-6 days ever since. Is that normal? Should I be concerned?

Possibly miralax (polyethylene glycol): The color of this poo is normal and nothing to worry about. What dose of miralax (polyethylene glycol) did he get? It would not be unusual for miraax to cause several days of loose stools. Is his belly distended? Any blood in the stool? Any exposures to reptiles or family members cooking chitlins? Another alternative to miralax (polyethylene glycol) is mineral oil to soften stools without the associated "blowouts" we see with miralax (polyethylene glycol).

My mother now suffering from hep c. her doc said her liver now in worst condition. She also had green stool these past three days. Wht exactly caused?

My mother now suffering from hep c. her doc said her liver now in worst condition. She also had green stool these past three days. Wht exactly caused?

Manage it: There's no figuring out the explanations for most green stools, but I'm concerned about your mom and hope that her hep c can be managed. There's new protocols that seem to cure a large majority of hep c sufferers and my hope is that she can be treated effectively despite our dysfunctional health care system.

My three month old has had 2 green poo nappies & thrown up some of her last 2 feeds what could this mean.?

My three month old has had 2 green poo nappies & thrown up some of her last 2 feeds what could this mean.?

Several reasons: The color of baby's stools can range from green to yellow to brown. The color usually depends on how fast the stool moves through the intestines or items in the diet. If she throws up all of her feeding consistently, see her doctor right away. Otherwise, slightly decrease the volume of her feedings for a day or so and ensure she burps well. If she acts uncomfortable, see the pediatrician.

My poop has been green for four days I haven't eaten anything bad or veggies?

My poop has been green for four days I haven't eaten anything bad or veggies?

Fats in your diet?: The color of bile that comes out of your gall bladder is deep green and it is an emulsifying agent for fats. So if you eat fatty food - fried food, ice cream - your body will secrete lots of bile into the intestine. As it moves down the intestine it goes thru several chemical conversions and eventually turns into a brownish colored chemical called stercobilinogen. If you eat lots of greens the sto
