Maybe. Maybe not.: It can be hard to tell if a woman is pregnant because some of the symptoms seen in early pregnancy can also happen in non-pregnant women. A urine pregnancy test gives a reliable result if done correctly. One can test about 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period. An Ob-Gyn doctor can evaluate any persistent or worrisome symptoms. ...Read more

Menstrual Cycle (Definition)

The menstrual cycle begins with the shedding of the uterine lining, resulting in bleeding from the vagina. A few weeks later, one ovary releases an egg and the uterine lining thickens in preparation for a potential pregnancy. Pregnancy can occur at this stage if sperm fertilizes the egg. If the egg is not fertilized, the egg will leave your body and ...Read more

Possible miscarriage: You may be having an early pregnancy loss. Miscarriage can occur very early in pregnancy and its not always painful. If you continue to bleed heavily you will need to seek treatment to stop the bleeding. If you pass tissue, then you can be certain you had products of conception. If you have a home pregnancy test, you could verify. Also, long cycles can result in heavy bleeding, usually w/o an egg. ...Read more

Need valuation by MD: Your symptoms suggest that there is another problem other than the UTI causing them. You need to see your physician for a complete evaluation with blood tests and X-rays to get to the source of the problem ...Read more

Check pregnancy test: There certainly is a chance that you are pregnant! If not, this is likely just an irregular period, which is not uncommon, especially if you have any stress, diet change, medication change, etc. If you have any odor to your discharge, or cramping, or fever, get seen to make sure you don't have an infection. ...Read more

Pregnant?

Maybe not, but...: A urine pregnancy test, done correctly, gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and thus lead to a repeat test. If a woman gets her normal regular period, then she is not pregnant, and a test is not needed. ...Read more

According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
