My Period Is Super Light
Hi normally my period is very heavy but this time I've been 10 days late and my period is super light and brown. I'm a little bit concerned as its the very first time that im experiencing such a light and brownish flow.
Check a test: There are many things that can cause your period to be late but, if you have been having unprotected sex, the first thing to do is check a pregnancy test and repeat it in 3-5 days if it is negative. Some medications including contraceptives can cause this too. If the tests are negative, see your PCP or Gyn for a complete history, exam, and appropriate testing to find the cause. Hope this helps. ...Read more
The menstrual cycle begins with the shedding of the uterine lining, resulting in bleeding from the vagina. A few weeks later, one ovary releases an egg and the uterine lining thickens in preparation for a potential pregnancy. Pregnancy can occur at this stage if sperm fertilizes the egg. If the egg is not fertilized, the egg will leave your body and ...Read more
My period is super light and came three days early. No unprotected sex in months, and even then it was timed to be on my "off" days.
Happens sometimes: Many women have occasional variation of their mucus discharge, some spotting between periods, a heavier period, a lighter period, a longer or shorter period, or even a missed period. Having one or two of these symptoms doesn’t necessarily mean there is a medical problem, but a visit to one’s primary care or Ob-Gyn doctor is a good idea if symptoms are persistent, recurring, or worrisome. ...Read more

My period is super light red then turns to brown barely bleeding could this be a sign of pregnancy by any chance? I get irregular periods
If this is..: If this is something new then it could certainly be related to pregnancy. Get a home based test for confirmation. If negative it could also be related to an infection, skipped ovulation, hormonal imbalance, stress, among others. Follow up with a gynecologist if symptoms persist. ...Read more

I went on the pill 9 months ago, now my period's been super light the past 2 months, is this normal or could I be pregnant, I've had 2 neg. Tests?
When in doubt: Just check pregnancy test. And if you are still not bleeding normally and first pregnancy test was negative, check it again in 1 week. More than likely now that your body is accustomed to that pill, it may respond to it "normally" that way from now on. So you should not worry. If you must, visit a GYN or family physician for further consultation. Thanks for trusting in HealthTap. ...Read more

I lost my virginity we used a condom and my period after tht was super light. I'm very worried that im may be pregnant.
Reasonable to worry: It can be hard to tell if a woman is pregnant because some symptoms seen in early pregnancy can also happen in non-pregnant women. A urine pregnancy test gives a reliable result if done correctly. One can test about 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period. Life is full of surprises, so couples must always be prepared to raise a child. ...Read more
Take it slow.: It would not be wise to embark on an intensive exercise regimen right from being sedentary. You will be able to tolerate such an intense regimen in the future, but you have to build up your strength and endurance slowly. Start with light weight-training and short cardio sessions, for example, and add weight and time as your tolerance builds. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I'm 29 and was wondering why a woman's period would go from super heavy her whole life to this month being light and pink instead of dark red?
Hormonal changes: I wouldn't question a good thing, but sometimes a shift in hormones based upon changes in diet/weight/stress/lifestyle can affect the way your uterine lining develops and sheds. Having a lighter period would not be as concerning as missing a period altogether. Keep track of what happens next month with a menstrual calendar. ...Read more
