My Period Comes Every 3 Months Can I Still Get Pregnant
Can't see why not.: I imagine you're concerned that your being overweight might be a problem. And you're right. But it probably won't prevent conception. It may make the pregnancy more difficult and may make it harder for you as a mother of a baby. It's very demanding and even if you're in good shape, it can be exhausting. So, if you can wait for awhile and shed some lbs - that'd be good. But you can try it. Best! ...Read more
The menstrual cycle begins with the shedding of the uterine lining, resulting in bleeding from the vagina. A few weeks later, one ovary releases an egg and the uterine lining thickens in preparation for a potential pregnancy. Pregnancy can occur at this stage if sperm fertilizes the egg. If the egg is not fertilized, the egg will leave your body and ...Read more

Pregnant at 43: Yes you can still get pregnant at 43. You likely do not ovulate on a regular, consistent basis even with regular periods, but you most certainly can still get pregnant. Drug use may affect fertility. You do not want to be using drugs in preconception or pregnancy timeframes for BOTH your health and that of your unborn child. ...Read more

Yes to both.: Irregular menstrual vaginal bleeding should be easily distinguishable from an early pregnancy with threatened abortion by a home urine pregnancy test. Irregular menses decrease fertility but you can still get pregnant if unprotected vaginal intercourse takes place. Please take Folic Acid 1 mg daily and consult with your gynecologist. The: The menstrual cycle bleeding is controlled by hormones and these can be tested for by blood tests. Your ovaries make estrogen to grow an egg and then after an egg is released Progesterone is produced and if you do not get pregnant then these two hormones fall and trigger a regular period bleed. If you are not making eggs you do not make regular period bleeding. You can take a progestin pill to make bleeding but that will only work if you are making estrogen. There is no way to fix this over the internet, you will need to see someone. Naturally you would have also checked a pregnancy test too. Best wishes. ...Read more
Can I get a negative pregnancy test (clear blue) three days before expected period and still be pregnant.
Yes: Conception, as defined by the generation of a fertilized ovum, occurs within day or so of the sex. However, it takes about two weeks for the embryo to make enough HCG to produce a positive pregnancy test. Blood test may be done a day after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. ...Read more
Yes...: Ovulation isn't always predictable so although there are certain "expected" times for increased chances of getting pregnant, this is not a perfect science. Especially if your partner is also a teenager (you are 16, correct?). Hormones are really hard to predict at that age. To avoid pregnancy and STDs, learn proper use of condom and spermicide foam for EVERY sexual encounter. ...Read more

Hi I am 16 years old and I am married for a year I have been trying to conceive for 8 months now and still not pregnant I get my period every month.
No need to worry:
It takes an average of 6 months to conceive which means about half of women take more than 6 months. It's not considered a concern unless you try for a year without success. If in a year you're not pregnant then your husband should have his sperm count checked. If that's ok I advise you be evaluated for hypothyroidism first ; of course see a gynecologist too.
I think 16 is a bit young to be a mom. ...Read more

Hello! I was wondering if you could still get pregnant if a person hardly is see their periods, if you see it every other month or every 2-6months?
Infrequent periods: It sounds like your periods are both light and come infrequently, every 2-6 months. When your period is that infrequent then it is likely you are not releasing an egg, or releasing one occasionally - so it is much harder to get pregnant. The cause is usually something blocking ovulation - you need to see a doctor to figure out what is going on and treat it. ...Read more

Normal cycle: Your cycle is normal and the Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) taken before, likely has no influence on your inability to conceive. If you have not conceived in 8.5 mo and are having regular sex mid cycle, you could try to measure follow your ovulation with a kit to better time the optimal day to try. If you do not conceive in the next few cycles, I would seek help from an ob/gyne. ...Read more
