Why is it that every time you see a rhinoplasty job the nose still looks big, even after a yr or so. It is impossible to make a nose small?

Big Nose After Surg: The nose should not look bigger after rhinoplasty than it did before surgery. Rhinoplasty is designed to make asymmetric or wide noses look better. However, surgeons are limited by what they have to work with. If the nose is very thick-skinned and very wide to begin with, then rhinoplasty may improve it's shape but cannot transform it into something completely. See my website for examples of this. ...Read more

1 month after tertiary revision rhinoplasty my nose looks grotesque and freakish with bridge side wall dent can I get a filler soon. Looks scarey. It will be difficult to live like this a year.

Concerned: Concerning that you've have 3 rhinos at 31. As you've seen, rhinoplasty can be tricky and each additional procedure becomes moreso. It's hard w/o pics but you're level of worry concerns me. I would not have any more surgery for 9-12 mos. Fillers are not likely the answer. You need to see a plastic surgeon with extensive rhino experience. While I do rhinos, I would send you to a colleague w/ > exp. ...Read more

Revision rhinoplasty: Choosing a revision rhinoplasty surgeon can at the outset seem like a daunting task. It's important to choose a list of potential surgeons critically before narrowing down the ones to consult with based on board-certification, training, credentials, patient reviews, before/after pictures, etc. I would recommend a minimum of 3 consultations, and a maximum of as many as it takes to feel comfortabl. ...Read more

My son looks pretty old for a 14 year old and he wants to get a nose job what's the youngest age he can do it at?

Good Question: You are going to get many opinions on this controversial topic. The goal of your doctor is to do no harm: operating too early can disrupt the growth plate and stunt your son's normal nasal growth. Since individual maturity is highly variable, you are best to consult a rhinoplasty expert in person. ...Read more

Narrowing: Narrowing of the nasal base can be done to narrow wide nostrils. Incisions for this procedure can either be done on the outer nostril area itself to remove a wedge of tissue. Another option is to remove tissue from the nasal sill (floor of the nostril). In some instances both a wedge excision and nasal sill excision are combined.

In isolation this type of procedure can be done in an office procedure room with local numbing medicine. Of course, if you want deeper anesthesia could also be provided in an operating room if you prefer.

A proper nasal analysis would help give your surgeon a better idea of what method (s) of narrowing your nostrils is best for you. For some people addressing an under-projected tip can also help immensely with having a wide nose. ...Read more

Do those clips for nose actually help make them taller/straighter/narrower? Or is rhinoplasty the only way to change nose shape?

Rhinoplasty or clips: External devices cannot change the shape of the nose. Only surgery (or to a limited extent fillers) can. All it did was create ulcers on the nose. ...Read more
