Urine output: One of the ways we gauge adequate breast milk intake is by the number of wet diapers a baby makes in a 24 hour period ( should be at least 5). Constipation: This sounds like more involved of a problem, an an enema is usually not the first intervention to alleviate constipation in a newborn. I advise you to see a gastrointestinal specialist ASAP, or take the baby to an ER or urgent care center to rule more serious causes of GI obstruction. Breast Fed Babies: Can have semiloose to runny or seedy mucousy, sour smelling poop after every feeding (like 6-8 times/day), or they can have poop every 6-8 days. Both are normal. So, you don't have to do anything to make baby poop. As song as there is no other issue, like vomiting, distention of abdomen or very hard stool, your baby is ok.
