My Newborn Baby Is Not Pooping
My new born baby is formula fed his poop was always yellow now my baby is 1month old and his poop is green is something wrong? Why the color change?
Depends on situation: A newborn must first pass the dark sticky meconium stool & this starts day one or is abnormal.Once it clears, if baby is breast fed they may stool a little smear every feeding or one big crib full once a week. Breast milk is so well digested that it may not leave much behind for poo. If it is soft, the frequency of stooling is not important.Formula babies go more often. ...Read more

Yes: A young baby usually poops after every feeding or after every-other feeding (averaging 3-4 poops a day). As the weeks go by, babies tend to poop less often, some twice a day while others once every-other day. As long as a baby is normal in eating, growth, and development; and does not have constipation, bloating, or tummy aches; the number of poops per day is not very important. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Question unclear: If the kid has never pooped it has a blockage and needs evaluation. If you mean he doesn't poop much, more info is needed. Breast fed babies can have a little smear with each feed or have one big blowout every 7-10 days.Bottle fed kids will poo more predictably & should go daily. If the poo is soft it is not considered constipation. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
