My Nasal Mucus Smells Of Chlorine
I accidentally inhaled fumes from a mixture of ammonia and clorox. Now I have excessing sneezing, runny nose, and sense of smell seems distorted.Help?

Would post nasal drip from allergies and a deviated septum cause constant sticky clear mucus and occasional dark brown mucus with blood in it?

F/u w/ doc: Don't start smoking! If this is caused by particles of dust in the environment, I think of fungi or other organisms, especially with the weird taste you mentioned. Mouth hygiene: Hard to say without more info about your history. Could be infection, allergies, reflux, etc. If you're not having pain or fevers it's probably not infection. Decrease PND: .llew sThis is a wonderful drug and it will definitely cut down on your post nasal drip if used properly. You have to direct the spray to the sides of the nose and it is 2 sprays each nostril at hour of sleep. there is a physiologic reason for this. Hello, during bad flare-up of GERD, I notice traces of blood in my nose (none in mouth). Can acid enflame sinus passages that badly and dry them out?
If you get acid: reflux all the way into your nasal passages, then you are in a lot of trouble since your epiglottis is supposed to stop this from happening normally. You may have high blood pressure caused by GERD that can precipitate a nosebleed. Or you may have sinuses that are dry/ inflamed from allergies/ sneezing/ postnasal drip that can bleed.
